That is very weird. When I called to confirm my scan date they said they received both financial and civil documents.

Did you use two scan sheets? Or did you split the two packets inside the envelope?

Any recent case complete's?

What was your scan date or scan dates? Any checklists?

Trying to figure out where the NVC is at about, and how long they are taking to process as i see it. Processing review time is decreasing. Cr1 visa

I had seen somewhere here that Mexico is taking up to 2 months to get an interview.

Also I think they only schedule interviews at the very end and beginning of the month

Hi guys, do you know if translations of original documents (birth certificates, police records) need to be notarized, or can I translate those myself?

Thanks

You can do them yourself, you just have to include a letter that your a competent english translator.

If you search on the forum you'll find others have done this.

Ours didn't have to be notarized. We had a friend do it for us because she is good with computers and formatted the translations the same way. It just has to have a statement saying the translation is correct to the best of your knowledge and you are competent to do the translation.

That part made me very nervous too cause it says "certified"

From the sounds of it you wouldn't need to translate it according to the site, but I don't trust it and some people have said they've gotten checklists on it, while some say they've been ok.

They have to be translated by a true certified translator. Although we did it in a correct way, we got a check list only because the format of my husband's birth cerificate translation was different with his mom's birth cerificate. His birth certificate was translated by a certified translator in the US (the one had been sent to USCIS with no problem) and his mom's was translated in Iran by a certified translator as well. Then my husband got his birth cerificate translated again In the same format as his mom's. It is redicoulus. We got a check list after 8 weeks for what we had done propery. So make sure, all the documents which need to be translated be in the same format and have them done by a certified translator.

Good Luck!

So myself and others are just getting messages that our cases were sent to NVC on Sept 1st.

This means that they do perform certain actions at certain times of the month, so even people after me probably get sent at the same time.

Question I have, when do you think is a good day to call?

Friday or Monday, being we had a holiday this week as well, and they probably don't get it into their system right away.

So when you say certified translator, do you mean you used a service and paid a company to do it?

They essentially wanted the translation done by the same person I'm guessing, that stinks.
