Do you live together? If you don't or if you do but for some reason they believe you don't, that could be a serious problem because that would lead them to believe your evidence is fake. As part of the bona fide marriage evidence you probably submitted a lot of stuff showing you live in the same residence. 

 

If they believe that is false, then it would be a serious problem. 

 

I recommend that you live together 24/7 because you could get a home inspection at any time.

 

I don't know if they made copies of the information on the phone. I doubt it. You husband should have said no to giving them the phone. They cannot get a court order for your phone anyway. The issue is that I don't know if seeing the phone is enough evidence for them to deny, or if they are going to keep digging. 

 

I don't think your lifestyle per se is a problem. I think the problem is that they believe your evidence of bona fide marriage is fake because of what they said to you.

I agree with the above,

 

the other thing could be that if you joined an existing couple to make it polyamorous then USCIS could think that the couple are just doing you a favour and helping you get status rather than it being a genuine relationship especially if the other people in the relationship do live together. 

 

If the other people in the relationship were married and then divorced so you could marry into the relationship and adjust status that would also raise issues with USCIS partly because they are suspicious of people divorcing partner a, marrying partner b for an immigration benefit, and then potentially divorcing partner b to go back to partner a later on.

This is a good reason to leave your phone at hime...unusual but they obviously suspected something wasn't right and imo it doesn't seem right to me.
