Random question, but does anyone else ever have any trouble getting fingerprinted? They always seem to struggle getting my fingerprints and at my work they even gave up, since they couldn't get any for my background check. I was told my fingerprints are so worn they can't get them (don't know how they'd be so worn, I'm not very elderly, in my 30s, and it's not like I've had the kind of job that would cause this). I wonder if this will be a problem at biometrics again and is there something I can do about it?

IR1 took 520 days....

I just realized that the G-1145 that I send in last week was out of date. I got it off of the website a few months ago. I didn't even know that I had to worry about that, I was assuming that all the forms on the USCIS website would be the most up to date versions. Luckily, my N-400 was the correct form. Hopefully, they just accept or throw out the G-1145 without rejecting the whole application since the form didn't change anyways.

If USCIS cashes your check (or charges on your credit card) and sends you an NOA, I assume it means they were okay with it.  :blink:  Fingers crossed!  :star:

Hi I am trying to file N-400 for me and my husband. We are green card holders for more than five years. What are all the documents you are filing N-400 with? looking at the documenst check list I understadn only two things- green card copy and marriage certificate. They dont ask for photographs if filing from US. Am I getting it right? any info/insight appreciated

Good morning everyone!  I came across this while searching for something else on VJ...

 

Turns out a few years ago a person previously employed by USCIS as an Adjudicator ended up becoming a member of VisaJourney when they later submitted their own application for their fiancee.  He decided to give an interview of sorts on some of the inner-workings of USCIS and answered questions from members about things like background checks, how applicants are processed, delays, how and why files get moved around, etc.

 

Keep in mind it's a couple of years back---when USCIS was going under the name BCIS...but it appears from reading it this morning that most of what the person is saying is still very valid and current in terms of how things are still done around there when it comes to approving/denying applications.

been checking my mail box for NOA.

Looking at the July N-400 filers forum, it looks like people have been reporting receiving their NOA anywhere from 2 days before the check cash to up to 7 days after the check cash. I had my check cash yesterday from Chicago but no NOA yet. Give it a few more days.
