You’re returning to the US two weeks prior to expiration? If so, you’ll be fine

Yes, I return two weeks prior to my one year extension. Would be nice to get the 18 month one before but still. Trying on infopass in the meantime anyway.

I guess you can go to any nearest state to get a stamp,its federal so its the same everywhere,right?

I did get a stamp, my 1 year extension expires in just under 2 months.

I think it does matter from which country are you coming from simply because that is how diplomacy works.

They refused to give it to us until 2 weeks before my husbands green card expires. 🙄

May I know whether for what duration you got the I-551 Stamp for ( example : 6 months , 12 months , etc)?

Just got a reminder to renew my driver's license which expires at the same time as the green card/1-year extension. Since I haven't received the 18-month extension, I'm thinking of going to USCIS to get that stamp. I still have time because it expires in October, but I'll try to schedule an appointment in September.
