Sorry maybe stupid question but.. Where or how can I check if I am eligible to apply?

I heard somewhere you can apply 3 months before your third year and other links of uscis said (if not 3 years yet... Stop.. You are not elegible)

Thanks

Yes, it is correct that you can file 90 days before the 3 year anniversary of your POE (assuming you are eligible under the 3 year rule)

If you create an account here: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

Then go to the file N-400 link and it will ask a series of questions to verify whether you are eligible :)

The other day I called USCIS regarding me and my mom's pending i-751 application (I am dependent on her application).  As such, I haven't received notice on my name. Basically the only paper I have on my name is the notice that they don't need my fingerprints and picture taken again. I was upset and decided to call and check where our case is in this process especially because I want to travel and I don't have a valid document to do it so. On top of that my passport is expiring and I want to go to my country and change it. When I called, she needed my mom to confirm her personal information, and after she said that our case is being transferred to our local office. I told her that we made a case inquiry and that they didn't say anything new other than they were still processing. She said that the case was indeed transferred to our local office and she was able to confirm that that would be in Dallas. She also said that we should receive something by August 26th, since on the 26th it will be 6 months since the case was received in the local office (February 26th 2018). So, maybe that wasn't a glitch in the system after all. Many people were transferred in April as well. I wanted to share this with you so that you can know what they said about cases being transferred to a local office. When it comes to the transfer letter, on their website says that transfer notice is issued when case is moved from one service center to another service center. Therefore, I don't think that they are issuing transfer notice when they send cases in local offices. I also have scheduled InfoPass appointment for June 29th to have my passport stamped and be able to travel. They should issue me the stamp since I literally don't have one single document on my name.

Thanks, All. I will apply as well for N-400 once the 90-day window opens up.

Quick question: I have an Indian passport and I don't think India allows dual citizenship like the US. So when in the process do I have to renounce my Indian Citizenship, once I file for N-400?

Thanks!

You will want to wait until you’re a US Citizen before renouncing your Indian Citizenship

Has anyone received an 18 month extension letter?? We were supposed to get those...

Not yet, no. I’m sure it’ll take a little while considering the amount they’ll need to send out

18 months? Is this something different than the usual extension letter we all received after filling?

Ok, I just answered my own question by going back a couple pages :P  I wonder will these 18 extension letters go out right before our original 12 month extension letters are set to expire?

Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction

On March 2, 2018, we transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC17xxxxxxx, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by April 1, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

any update for you after name update

Hi there,

I’m reading this post and wondering did you get an interview after your case moved to a new officer??
