I saw this being mentioned in another 129-f filers group, they said its a expedited request. Currently they are working on Late April cases

Do you know where? And: you can do expedited requests? How does that work (since, you know, it's completely too late for me to request one...)

Hello everyone,

It sure has been quiet in here. My fiance and I are anxiously awaiting the NOA2. I checked the estimation times today, as we were planning flights to visit, and saw they pushed back the estimations by about a week! This made me even more anxious. On the bright side, I checked my form I-797C today and realized I put the wrong date in for my NOA1 approval by a good 4 days. I had initially put July 31, which was the notice date, instead of the received date of the 27th. Thankfully, this put my estimated time back to where it was, but it's still worrisome that the latest visajourney petitioners are recording longer processing times to where it would push the dates back by a good week. Hoping it speeds up again.

Anyway, we're expecting our first child on 2 March, so every day really counts here. I'm hoping we get the visa approved in early February, but I know not to hold my breath. I hope everyone in the forums is doing well. If anyone's in a similar situation as me (baby on the way), I'd love to make some friends to vent and get the stress out with.

Cheers!

Same for us. Originally it was November for us and now it is getting into mid December. I plan on flying over for the interview, but last minute tickets in December are about 3 times as much. :(

There are lots of NOA2s coming in mail without an update on case tracker.

At least we're all in the same boat I guess :( 5 months for NOA2 seems pretty crazy but I guess we just got to be patient! I wanted to have my interview by the end of January but who knows if that will even happen now...The wait continues

The positive for us is that it looks like the interview will be in Jan/Feb, which actually works better for my schedule and airline ticket prices. The negative is we will miss being together for the holidays, but if all goes smooth I will take the trade off any day.

Remember that the estimated time is based on membership data and not everyone who applies for a K-1 uses this site.  I understand that the date is being pushed back but I've decided not to let that discourage me too much.  I've got a secret hope that the processing times will pick up now that it's more towards the end of the year.  My fiance and I are completely screwed if this take too long so I'm trying to look on the positive side.  I'm putting positive energy out there that this process will pick up in the next couple of months so that I don't have to go through a financial crisis.  Also I haven't seen my family in 3 years now so I'm a bit eager to get back!

I-129F Sent: July 5th 2017

I-129F NOA2: January 19th 2018

Do you know where? And: you can do expedited requests? How does that work (since, you know, it's completely too late for me to request one...)

Expedite Criteria

USCIS reviews all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis and requests are granted at the discretion of the office leadership. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met.

USCIS may expedite a petition or application if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • Severe financial loss to company or person;
  • Emergency situation;
  • Humanitarian reasons;
  • Nonprofit organization whose request is in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States;
  • Department of Defense or national interest situation (These particular expedite requests must come from an official U.S. government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to the government.);
  • USCIS error; or
  • Compelling interest of USCIS.

God Bless!
