I could not agree with you more on this. They are trying to roll this out without actually taking the time to iron out the details of it in hopes people will just pass it. Does this remind you of 2008/2009 when the Democrats did this as well with Obamacare? I think planned parenthood needs to go away honestly since the majority of centers are not about women's preventive care or actually helping pregnant women at all, they are more concerned with abortion.

At this point I think Republicans are just trying to save face and pass whatever they can even if it's virtually the same as Oterriblecare.

I think that the $1-2 a day is more for catastrophic insurance and not regular insurance.

He made no claim of that. If anything he seemed to imply it was regular ol' insurance and kept talking about free market capitalism taking care of everything... and bless him, he means well, but to get insurance down to that kind of level you'd need thousands of insurance companies competing against each other.

Either way this plan doesn't solve anything. We can barely afford the insurance we have now and rarely use it, not because we don't need to either, but because we can't even afford to use it. I've been having some ongoing medical issues for a while and know that I need to get myself looked at. For giggles I decided to see if I could find a halfway decent doctor in this area (a near impossibility) that participated. Nope, not a single doctor took the insurance.. the closest was three counties away and not even that highly recommended. I'd have to drive two hours away to find one that I could work with and that's good. But then I started thinking about the sheer cost of the exam and tests they'd want to run, and potential surgery... yeah it's just not going to work. Still looking at a potential 52% increase next year, and this bill will not address that. With another insurer just pulling out of this state today, I can see that spiking higher, even if O'care never existed. It's a virtual monopoly by these companies.

We don't seek preventative care because by the time we end up paying the bills needed for survival + an insurance premium who could afford such care? Heck, mom hung in there for about five years of ''not able to afford it'' before a lot of yelling and crying and fighting got her down the rabbit hole of about 6 different doctors before they found the cancer.

It's like riding in the back of the paddy wagon on a winding dirty road.

Keep government out of my life, but by all means, let it dictate to women what they should do with their bodies. China's one-child policy was an assault on human rights, but America's alt-right many-children-even-if-you-dont-want-them is not.

Support health insurance that doesn't cover contraceptives, but don't dare except viagra, cialis, and the likes from the list of covered items.

I can hear Rod Serling in the back, ready to make his introduction to tonight's episode.

Women should learn to keep their legs closed if they don't want to get preggers.

I am all about getting government out of my life and I mean all of my life. That means don't dictate to anyone anything about healthcare or what to do with their bodies, and don't use tax money for planned parenthood. If you want a abortion then pay for it yourself, I don't have a problem with that at all. Unless it is medically necessary for the woman to survive or due to rape/incest, then by all means the state should pay.

I support health insurance that DOES cover contraceptives and my wife has used it before. It was actually nice going to pick up the bc pills and not having to pay for them at all.

I am just glad that I have insurance through my employer honestly. But I do pay $285 every two weeks for it to cover my family.

I will agree to that, once I can get a tax refund for not having kids in public schools. Yet, I am made to pay taxes to support schools I no longer need or use. Heck, why should my tax money be used to pay for some crumbling bridge in Texas?  Why should my tax money be used to cover for all the religious institutions that don't pay taxes?

The point is that we all pay taxes, and those funds are used for many services we don't necessarily agree or use. Planned parenthood is one such case. There are more, but for some reason, planned parenthood has been chosen to be the poster child of people's disaffections with the tax code.

Mind you, you pay "only" $570 a month because you have a job and benefits. Imagine those people who are working for minimum wage, or even three times minimum wage, and those who don't have jobs at all.

No, Planned Parenthood is not a government run organization at all such as the DOT or schools. So it should NOT be getting my tax money at all. Sorry but property taxes have been paying for schools because schools are run by the state and local governments, all the while PP is now.

Well we're working on that. He's going in for a second interview with the VP of the college next week.. I hope this means they are serious about taking him on in the new position. They will give us a plan and pay for a good chunk of it, remainder will be about $150 every two weeks for both of us. I'm skeptical on how good the coverage is, but desperate times.

I never said I wasn't lucky at all about that because I am lucky to have good insurance. But remember you and I live in California which has basically given out MediCal for a third of the population of the state. So basically anyone who is poor can get coverage from MediCal.
