Hello.

I have applied a application to bring my wife from India back in May 2016.

Its been over a year now.

I was notified that the case is now in the hands of the National Visa Center after they obtained all documentation in the beginning of March of 2017.

They told me that it will take 11 weeks to process the information.

The information has been processed and it was noted that one piece of document was incorrect and that the correct one needed to be sent in which I did about two weeks ago.

A rep from the NVC confirmed that they obtained the document I sent in recently last Friday.

They told me it will take an additional 11 weeks to process THAT document......

Even though the document/letter that came as a conclusion of the incorrect document that they obtained said it will take 30 days.....they told me that information is false and it will take 11 weeks.....

Has anyone gone through a situation like this or can give me any insight?

I really miss my wife and its been over a year since I've last seen her face to face.

Just in case if anyone is wondering, I am a US Citizen and my spouse is in India.

Errr....even though the NVC received the initial documents on March 2017? They said 11 weeks but its now officially 12 weeks.

The 11 weeks will count when NVC get that documents aka scan day.

When you say scan day, do you mean the day that they picked up the case or the day that they obtained my initial required documents? If it is the day that they received my documents, it has now been 12 weeks now....

Scan day is the day they received your documents. In your case is initial required documents.. When they received the documents, they will scan it( bar code from cover sheets) to the systems. The 11 weeks start counting after that.

Okay I see, ya its been 12 weeks now.

They finished the initial review process for it two weeks ago but found out that one of the documents had incorrect information.

I did send them the correct one immediately and they confirmed they received it last Friday.

The confusing thing is I called them today, and they said it will take an additional 11 weeks now......but the letter they sent to me notifying me of the mistake with one of the documents states it will take them 30 days.....but the rep I spoke to said it was incorrect....so I am really confused and worried :(

What kind of documents they requested?

Police Certificate from my Spouse - was the document that they said was incorrect. All other documents were fine (like photos, our other certificates, etc).

well, police cert is a must have document when submit to NVC. Since you already send it two week ago, then you can waited 6-7 more weeks to get a CC. NVC likely want to see police cert in original .

Yes it was the original.

So I need to wait another 6-7 weeks, really?

Also what do you mean by CC?

I apologize if I am asking simple questions, I am new to this and dont really have anyone else to talk/ask which is why I came here after doing some searching.
