The national basket is much larger than the Washington basket and since DC (Eric Trump's basket) is not really part of Hillary's national basket (no senator, no representative, no statehood) it is understandable how one can reach conclusion that the two really do not compare.

How true.  She said half the Trump supporter were deplorable, but didn't identify them specifically so how could you determine what half you were part of?  The remark effectively described all Trump supporters and is part of the reason she lost along with the fact that she was a really bad candidate chosen by the group Eric Trump was referring to.
