Eric Trump: Democrats in Washington are 'not even people'

 

Washington (CNN)Eric Trump said Democrats who support the probe into his father's campaign and Russia are "not even people" and he has "never seen hatred like this."

He also shared harsh criticism of the Democratic Party as a whole.

"They're imploding," Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity Tuesday night, adding: "They have no message. You see the head of the (Democratic National Committee), who is a total whack job."

Trump's "not even people" remark quickly evoked comparisons on social media to Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment made about President Trump's supporters during the 2016 campaign.

The two aren't even comparable. Trump was talking about a corrupt group of politicians. Hillary was talking about a group that included millions of Americans. No comparison to be made here.

i agree. The son of the so-called president should have better judgment. As it is, he's worse than Hillary. Sad. Very sad indeed.

So a person calls out a small group of people and he is worse than the person that called out almost half of the population?  Is the MDL logic?

Just logic. Eric is a member of the US government now. He should measure his words, but I am glad to see that some light is getting through the fog, and the MOR/MDRs aren't just letting these things slide by.

Ummm, since when has Eric been elected, or appointed to a position, in the US government?  By that logic, Billy Carter was part of the US government.

Indeed! Eric is not a member of the US government - what was I thinking - but then, neither was Hillary a part of the government, when she made the "deplorable" comment. So you're saying that the MDR/MORs really blew her comment out of proportion. I can see how your logic works.

To my knowledge Eric Trump isn't running for anything either.  If he does run for something in the future then maybe it is comparable to what Hillary did, but nice try.  Hillary alienated a large portion of the voting block and may have actually fired up many in that block to go out and vote against her.  Eric Trump simply stated what a large amount of people actually think.

Still, Eric wasn't a member of the government - to use your own words - but neither was Hillary. And it can be argued that both stated what a large amount of people actually think. You can't prove it, and neither can I.

 

What we both know, is that they comments are equivalent, to anyone who can see past your double standards.

I agree, but like I said, Hillary was asking the voters to support her, so her words actually may have made a difference in the outcome by firing up Trump's base, or pushing people on the fence away from her.  I am not saying she had no right to say what she said, just that the effects of her words (at the time) were much different than anything Eric Trump said.

To be fair to Clinton, she actually in fact, only called out a small group, and not in fact half the population. Sorry, I know this is not what you want to hear, but that can't be helped.
