Sharon and I have been apart for eight months now, we sent the I129f in September and only tomorrow will I get to call the Consulate to tell them the checklist is complete. We are lucky in having a long distance provider that charges only .25 cents per call letting us talk as long and as often as possible, and when we want to see each other I use an internet café. As for being sick a few months ago I was having trouble walking long distance and had ultra sound done only to find a narrowing of the veins in my left leg which won’t get any better, the last month I was suffering excruciating chest pains and thought the worse, the good news was it happened because I helped my daughter move into her own place and messed up my shoulder. Then I did a pre-medical medical with my doctor and had to have another ultra sound, this time on my abdomen since there is an enlarged vein or artery, I will get the results tomorrow and I hope it is nothing serious.

This journey is literally taking me down a road that is better not travelled. AS for being sick of waiting we both are, but we both look at others timelines and find that we are among the more fortunate for having gone so far so fast and not being lost in some dark bureaucratic area.

Sharon also has her stresses but is holding up as best she can knowing that everyday brings us a day closer.

I, for one, woud never advise anyone to go thru this. I think we are blinded by the fact that we are in love and have the opionion that because of that, the waiting will not be so hard. I don't think any of us take into account that it only makes the waiting that much harder. It is only natural for a woman to want to make a nest for her family, very hard to do when half of her family is thousands of miles away and stuck behind red tape and govenment protocol. I know I thought it would be much easier. I met my husband online and we talked for about six months before I flew to his country to meet him. Fell in love with him and married him there, with the mind set that not much would change. We would still talk everyday in some way, make our plans for the things we would do when he gets here, etc... We continue to do that, but not knowing when we will see each other, be together again, it makes it so much harder. Added to that is not knowing what will happen in the end. We have all seen that even if all the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed, there could still be a denial.

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

:crying: I miss my husband too. I have not seen him in 46 days, so my heart really goes out to those who have not seen their loved one for months. I don't know how you did it, but pretty soon I will be doing it too. I keep telling my husband that we are not going to see each other until January of 2008, although we both know it MAY not be that long. That way when things actually get going we have something to be excited about.

We are also expecting our first child, so I have already prepared myself for the possibility that he may not be here for the birth :crying: . Our love is strong, so I know we will make it, but this s**t sucks, BIG TIME. I think the hardest thing is not knowing what is going on. I could see if USCIS told us, "hey your petition will be approved in approximately 60 days" then I would be counting down. Now I am just counting...

Sometimes I want to call them and say "PLEASE, LET ME HELP YOU! I WILL DO ANYTHING! I WILL LICK ENVELOPES. I WILL COVER LUNCH BREAKS. I WILL BRING COFFEE AND DONUTS. I WILL BAKE COOKIES AND MUFFINS. I WILL BRING RED BULL AND ALL THOSE OTHER ENERGY DRINKS SO YOU GUYS CAN PULL AN ALL-NIGHTER. ANYTHING THAT WILL HELP!" I wonder if they would respond if I sent my cover letter and resume.

(F) I pray that all couples have the strength to endure this difficult time. If your love can endure this it will endure anything. (F)

I am already so fed up with this whole immigration process. I was so naive, and never realized that the process would be this tiring and time consuming. I know i still have a long way to go but I pray that I get my approval... like say tommrrow. that would be nothing short of winning a million bucks..hehahha

couple of fast approvals recently have given me hope.. and i pray to my God that i receive my approval at the end of this month? am i being unreasonable?

It's been about 5 months for us. I agree that it's very hard being apart during this process but there is an end to it - even if it's unknown at this point. Just hang in there and eventually you will see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you all for replying to my post. We have felt so alone in this and it helps to know we are not. We were expecting to have been approved by now, but the days go on and nothing happens. I am pleased for all the other couples that have applied since us and been approved, but it makes you feel like there is something wrong and that ours is being kept back for a reason. I'm hoping it's just complete paranoia!!! We had a touch again on May 11th, so fingers crossed......

We got in touch with the congressman a few weeks ago, husband in millitary, where is paperwork, etc. and found out it was placed on an adjudicators desk on March 29th. Since then nothing until the touch Friday. Do you think it just aggravated the situation and put them on go slow for us? Anybody had this happen too?

It would be so great if they would just give a little more info out, wouldn't it????

Good luck to you all out there, I hope everything works out for you :)

I'm sick and tired of this too ....

I'm not even working at the moment. I lost my job and everything for USCIS misinformation. At least I have a place to stay now, shared with a bunch of house mates ... and at least there is ichat. Even being in chat all day with him (while searching for jobs anywhere in Europe for the time it will take ..) this still sucks.

Going to sleep alone every night sucks. I have been waking up the past few weeks depressed - missing going to a job, no matter how bad job, still a job ... missing having him around every moment of my day and my night.

He was here for a year... while trying to live on my lousy salary. It was still enjoyable every day. I'm sick of Ireland every single day as well - while I can't be with my spouse in US, even if he was here, he couldn't work here. I'm sick of the world treating us like criminals for the sole reason of being married.

I don't think there would be a job and a salary that would compensate this being apart thing. Not knowing how long this whole thing lasts makes it very hard to get a job - how long am I going to stay?

My relatives aren't really helpful on this either. Their trying to help is just trying to make me feel guilty for trying to live my own life, and the last thing I really need is extra guilt for their life choices.

Any of you want to chat?
