Sharia prosecutors in Indonesia’s Aceh province say two men on trial for gay sex should each be punished with 80 lashes, in another blow to the country’s moderate image after a top Christian official was imprisoned for blasphemy.

The lead prosecutor, Gulmaini, who goes by one name, said on Wednesday the two men aged 20 and 23 had “confessed” to being in a gay relationship, which was supported by video footage and other evidence found in their rented room.

No pun intended, still made me chuckle lol

I just hate being at the butt end of a joke.

But seriously.. I can see the Muslim religion that rules countries is sure coming a long way, progressing from burning/stoning/tossing gays from buildings to now giving them 80 lashes. I think by 2200 they might legalize being gay.. or who knows, maybe civil unions.

Wonder if that means the same in Murican as it does in English.

This is in Aceh province in Indonesia. They had a long running insurgency there up until the 2005 earthquake and tsunami, which then brought the insurgents to the table to negotiate. So they agree to lay down their arms if the province was afforded the ability to be the only province in Indonesia to rule by Sharia law.

Who ever gave the lashings is not a true Muslim. Just because he identifies as a Muslim, does not make him one. Islam is about peace and love for all individuals....regardless if they are an infidel, that needs to be killed or not.

I assumed the 2 convicted are Muslims?
