I agree.  But I'll be honest, I would not meet with him, eat with him, go skeet shooting with him.  The man is dangerous

He's a nutcase for sure...I just don't see the advantages of declaring you will never meet someone under any circumstances in the future...seems like there's nothing to gain with that.

And you'd be honored? That's the dumb part of his statement.

Nah I wouldn't be honored.

But if Obama said the same thing, he'd be weak.

Well either you agree with what Trump said…even though you may disagree with how he said it….or you don't.

When it comes to the use of weapons that can kill millions, I think offering to meet with the guy is the right choice. It's not KJU or Trump that are dangerous, it's their military and weaponry.

I'm pretty confident that if Obama said that the same people would applaud, much like they applauded his approach to Cuba. Trump makes alot of stupid statements...we already have several threads right now with his dumb comments that I admit are dumb(hence why I am commenting in here, not in there). However this one...he clearly stated under the right circumstances, which is fine and welcome, should it not be?

I'm sure he does not consider today to be the "right circumstances".

Obama would not and did not get a pass. If you recall, he was heavily criticized for suggesting that he would meet with Ahmadinejad.

Trump is weak and spineless. Trump honored to meet Jong Un while the US cries out for a real leader.

It's quite possible that they could meet, maybe it's some plan between the US and China to broker a deal in the region. A meeting a Chinese soil could just happen and maybe by using honoured might be a way to feed Kim's ego.

Honestly I'd be happier to see one of those nice bunker busting bombs dropped right on Kim's head, it's not like the guy doesn't have it coming.

I don't know how heavily criticized he was, certainly not by much of the left. Those who are up in arms now about what Trump said, like I said applauded his decision on Cuba and the Iran deal and many other questionable decisions he made. But since you brought it up, this is what Obama said at the time: "Meeting with somebody is not tantamount to agreeing with them". I think the same goes for this situation. Also he was going to meet Ahmadinajad under current circumstances whereas Trump said under right circumstances. I would not agree with Trump or anybody meeting with Ahmadinajad at the time. It's a major difference.

I already said it wouldn't be an honor. That's Trump speak. Although I imagine under such "right" circumstances it might at the time be an honor. My point is there's nothing wrong with keeping your options open.

A real one.

I don't believe there is anything Trump can do over the next four years to change you opinion of him, so you will never view him as your real president.

it's gonna be hard for anyone to see him as a real president as long as he keeps showing no respect for his office and for what it represents.

I will admit he is awkward and I wish there was a little more self control with the tweets. But he is not a career politician so it's something he will have to learn as he goes. So for those used to seeing a more refined president he will come across as crude but for those of us sick of the whole schooled politician who has been bought and paid for before taking office, Trump is a refreshing change.
