Could you share how long ago did you enter your SR/inquiry?  Mine has been sitting unassigned since July 19

I've submitted my EAD SR on 07/17 and only got an update today (about 18-19 days after). PD is 05/02.

They (USCIS) said they sent a response to my inquiry but there was neither any email nor SMS. I was thinking of calling again next week but as usual, I couldn't help myself and decided to call them this afternoon. The agent was kind enough but said the last person/staff to check the SR somewhat left the ticket in a "locked" state which prevented her from seeing details of the response. She was also unable to add further info nor submit a follow-up SR (for that SR!) because of that. In short, my SR is in limbo! LOL It's really very weird.

Before we end the call, she just said the response could also be sent by mail (USPS) -- coz I told her I did not include form G-1145 (to notify by email or text message) in the packet. Not sure if that makes sense or if that's really the reason -- I don't believe so. Or she said I could also wait when my first SR reaches 30 days then they could submit a follow-up SR. (Seriously, the process is confusing!) But anyway, I would still call again on 08/08 if I don't receive anything by then.

Folks this is my experience from tracking n monitoring my EAD case after biometerics was completed. I am in NY so this is what I did I found thread for NY 2017 in this forum n analyze the cases there paying close attention to the timelines between biometerics n approval dates and this is what I find out n this may varied depending of each situation but most situations I found out it takes between 8-10 weeks without no rfe or rfie generally for EAD cases to be approved. There were some case a few that took up to 12 weeks. Cases with reference took a lot longer time to get approval. Folks this is my analysis from matching my case to other cases in this forum. Also I find lots of useful information from folks postings like when to raise a SR n what to do after a SR was raise. Eg..  Like calling USCIS service representative n requesting to speak to a tier 2 IO all these are tips n advice I used to assist in monitoring my case. Thank you for all the advice n best wishes to all of us on this process.

The thing, there's really no criteria for them. It's really arbitrary.

Im here Adjusting from F1. It been 11 weeks since biometrics, no rfe/rfie, and I have been in the USA for more than 8 years on 2 different visas, and I have no update.

uscis are understaffed, and they are politically and racially affected, so it honestly a matter of luck and whoever dealing with your case

Hi Guys, I thought USCIS is closed on Saturdays so was very surprised to receive an update today (by email and SMS), "On August 5, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number XXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address." :)

Just sharing and hope to hear more good news from everyone. Have a great weekend!

What do you guys think about putting in a service request at this point?  We're at day 83 from our priority date right now, and wanted to wait until 90 days just in case.  It looks like people a month ahead of us are getting their EAD's about now, so is it worth putting in a SR? Will it just slow down the process and prevent my husband getting his EAD/AP asap?

I don't think that putting in an SR will slow anything down per say. I've read a lot of cases on here that actually got looked at very shortly after submitting one. I've also put one in on day 80-something. It still hasn't been assigned.

For me, im exercising all resources! I put in a service request, I've contacted my congressman and I will be calling the customer service number this week as day 90 is on Wednesday.

I personnaly feel its my job to to make sure that I use every tool available because 1) I paid for this process and I've bought myself the right to be persistent and 2) it's my livelihood at stake here.

So I finally got something of an update regarding my EAD case status!  I had made an online inquiry on day 75 (July 18th) and was told I would receive a response to my inquiry by August 9th.  This morning I checked my USCIS account and saw these messages:

Case History

  • 08/07/2017
    sign_icon.png

On August 7, 2017, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number SR***********MSC, was completed.

  • 08/07/2017
    sign_icon.png

On August 7, 2017, we sent a response to your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number SR***********MSC.

  • 08/07/2017
    sign_icon.png

On August 7, 2017, your inquiry about the status of your Employment Authorization application, referral number SR***********MSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

I'm assuming I'll receive my response in the mail, and I'm really hoping it's not just "your case is within normal processing time" because I'm at 95 days out from my PD now.

Hoping for some some good news this week!

If it makes you feel any better, I tried to make a service request a while back and it wouldn't allow me because I was still within processing time. So, I doubt they'll send you a letter just saying that.
