I think they do exist, but they rarely get the spotlight. John Kasich was the only one in the GOP to not cave in.

I watched a couple of independents and one guy was asked in an interview if he could name one foreign leader he admired. The guy never gave an answer and looked totally dumb struck, I think he might have been still involved near the end. 

 

I like the idea of a non politician in power, just to see how it goes. Trump may end up not being the right guy but at least he deserves a shot. It was poor competition that won it for him, just with the baggage Bill was bringing along I don't know why they bothered with Hilary.

this I will never understand about most Republicans and Republican Evangelicals....why would they not support John Kasich?  Is integrity dead?

He was honest and spoke his mind. He didn't pander to the fundies, so they rallied behind Ted Cruz, who is a real looney.

Hillary was probably a political compromise. It backfired. Trump was a mistake. It's backfiring terribly. And We The People pick up the bill in the end. Soon you too, will be here and asked to pay the bill.

Feedback from my in laws at the time was to give Cruz a wide berth. We were over on holidays for a few weeks just before the election and my mother in law put a couple of Trump stickers on the hire car. Long drive to Atlanta plenty of high fives and cars honking, my 22 year old daughter was in the front passenger seat and she is claiming the praise. My in laws say it was the Trump sticker.

 

For the future I an liking the footage of Trey Goudy as a possible future president, the guy speaks well and seems to have his heart in the right place. Probably a nutter but hopefully I will be able to vote by next election.

One can also vote for other D/R candidates, rather than the chosen one of each party. Of course, if they want their vote to count, would be a good idea to check in and see if they are delegating their votes toward another candidate, and that they are still technically eligible (same issue with write-ins). Generally candidates who want this done will have themselves removed from the general ballot, but some don't do this in time.

I knew you were going to say that. In fact, I was going to add to my post that before you say so is Trump, I'm not talking about him, but I opted against it because I wanted to see what would happen

 

Nevertheless...throughout the process in the last year + I have found Kasich to be very annoying. He definitely wasn't my cup of tea then again neither were most of them, Trump, Cruz and Rubio included. Really the only one I kinda sorta "like"(which is the closest I can ever come with a politician) is Rand Paul.

That's a genuine question to try get an understanding. 

 

There are no sanctuary cities. There are certain cities that told the federal government that the Feds can't force them to enforce immigration. These cities have enough on their plates, and the only reason they are on the news is because their mayors were vocal about the issue. San Francisco is no more a sanctuary city than any other city in the country.

 

What is your understanding of the term "sanctuary city"?
