Knightsbridge (London) - Nightmare

When you go to Knightsbridge you will find that they are a lot more relaxed about things in person. I have had a brain hemorrhage and have been left with epilepsy and partial paralysis as a result. They didn't want to know about any of that. They were more interested in whether I'd ever smoked, how much I drink and whether I'd ever in my life even considered recreational drugs. I brought my whole neurology file with me. It didn't make it out of my bag.  I recall a poster some years ago whose husband had MS and his visa was approved with no issues.

Its a formailty. Nothing more. It's so that the embassy can check a box to say "this person does not pose a public health risk".

My fiance just had his interview two months ago. I was also freaking out because he did not have a letter from his GP. Absolutely zero issues though. I think that if you have an illness or some medical condition then you would need it. I was so worried but it was FINE.

Also I remember my fiance telling me that he did not have a letter as well. They told him to wait a few minutes while they printed it off. They didn't seem happy about it, but they did it. So all was fine. I honestly wouldn't stress about it. If you have everything that's stated on the website you will be okay. If they do require something you don't have then they will request it and you send it in then approved. I was really suprised how smoothly it all went because I'm a perfectionist and my fiance just wanders through life with no problems or worrys.

You have your case number yes? Enter it into the CEAC and see what it says - if it says 'ready'. Screenshot it and print it out. While the NVC is supposed to send a letter out to the USC, it doesn't always happen that way. In addition the UKC is supposed to receive a letter stating the embassy is ready for them (at least they used to), but in many cases this also doesn't show up. They have been known to accept a screenshot printout.

As for the GP: Do you have a history of any mental illness, serious injury, self harm, noticeable scars from complicated surgery, or treatments for serious ongoing conditions? If not a letter is not needed from the GP. What you do need though is a vaccination print out. Have you received all the required vaccinations?

The embassy doesn't respond to the telephone. You could try emailing them, but since you have the ability to make your own embassy appointment, you should have a confirmation printout of that. Don't take the Knightsbridge phone person to heart... you have options. Your main point of concern would be in dealing with your GP if you really need to and making sure you have completed your vaccinations before the medical (and that you have proof of obtaining them).

I'm having the same issue with what to bring with case number on.

Are you sure a print out of CEAC will work? it just says the case number, NOT my name.

cheers

Hello everyone,
I am in the process for a K1 visa, I have my medical in London in 2 weeks.
I am from Italy and have lived in the UK for almost 3 years. I have all the documents necessary, I recently got from my GP the patient care summary but I was wondering whether I need my medical records from Italy too, it's not specified anywhere! (It is for criminal records instead)
Thanks

Hey so I would appreciate if someone could help me! I got my NVC case number today and immediately rang up for my medical in London and got offered an appointment this saturday 24th, which naturally I took as I thought was super quick. Now Im in a predicament as I assumed My fiance or myself would receive an email of our case number- which we havent yet, as she just rang up and asked for it and they gave it to her.. Are we supposed to get one? The medical is in like 3 days so I obviously need something to prove my case number. NVC told my fiance that I the beneficiary would receive something from the embassy when it was ready but thats what I need for the interview.. I thought it was something else for the medical? did anyone receive a confirmation email or letter from NVC about the case number?

They require the letter the embassy send to you by post as far as I am aware, I had to bring mine with me, so you need to wait for NVC to go to In Transit and Received

I believe they just need to see something with your LND case number on it. NVC sent my fiance an email did you receive that? Or I've heard people say you can just print the ceac tracker page.

We received email from NVC with the case number about four days after they said they had received our case.  If you gave your email when you filled out the I-129F then they might do the same with you.  I say might as nothing seems consistent with this process.

Frustrated w/ Knightsbridge - Medical (London)

Must admit, Knightsbridge has to be the MOST frustrating and stressfull part of our entire K-1 process to date!
We have been very precised with dotting our "i's" and crossing our "t's".  Every bit of information provided by the US Embassy overview and steps, the medical PDF file in details of who what when and where, etc. have all stated the exact same details of "what to bring".

We completed our DS-160, scheduled the medical, paid the visa fees & carrier service, and schedule the interview to be 2 weeks from the medical - HURRAY!  It's almost over.... NOT!!!!
We received a confirmation email from Knightsbridge with a list of "What to bring to your medical" and there are 3 - 4 items listed that are NOT listed any where in any of the documents we received from the Embassy, neither of their websites, NOR the link provided in the Knightsbridge email.

Slamming into Brick Walls here:
6.  A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category
- Never have we received anything from the NVC - They received our K1 03/20/2017, forwarded to Embassy 03/23/2017, Embassy received 03/27/2017
- Called NVC requesting a document with our details and case # on it.   They informed me that NVC does not process K1's but they would put in a request to send me a document w/ NO ETA on how long before its mailed.
- Called Knightsbridge they state its mandatory and I can't do the medical without it and to call the Embassy
- Called the Embassy, the switchboard operator states:  They do not take calls and to submit an online inquiry, turn around reply time is 5 - 10 business days - REPLY time?!
His medical exam is scheduled for 04/28/2017

7.  Summary of medical history from GP (NOT full medical records) and reports covering any medical conditions, disabilities, and prior serious illnesses you have been treated for or anything ongoing.  You may ask your GP for a “Patient Summary”, or access this yourself under “Patient Access”.
- The GP is unbelievable - It takes a week between asking anything to get a reply.  We have been working on getting them to print out his vaccination records now for over a month.  We rang them up today requesting a "Patient Summary" and they state we have to submit it in writing and it will take 2 weeks.  2 WEEKS .... seriously? It's not his entire medical history we informed them of this, its just a 1 page summary.
- I rang Knightsbridge back and got the same thing it's mandatory, the exam results will not be sent to the Embassy without it.  She also stated it should only take them 24 - 48 hours to generate the "Patient Summary".
- Called GP back, submit in writing and wait 2 weeks
Seriously - Why!?!  Why are these documents being requested when they aren't even on the list from the Embassy and surely WE canNOT be the only ones going through this.

I'm about to pull my hair out.... Does anyone have any suggestions?! PLEASE - other than reschedule both the medical and interview

Thanks for your time and help

6.  A Letter/Email from the embassy/NVC to confirm your case number and visa category

8. If you wear glasses or contact lenses please bring them along to the appointment

My partner is going through a similar situation now. Did you end up rescheduling your interview? Or did you go to your embassy interview without the medical being completely resolved and then the medical caught up with the embassy after your interview? I'm just wondering if he should reschedule his embassy interview until his GP gets it together, or just continue on and Knightsbridge will catch up to the embassy before the final decision is made?

I left a week between my medical and interview and had an issue with my medical summary but just went ahead with the interview. My GP were a nightmare to get anything sorted and had actually given me the wrong document for the medical summary. I found this out at the medical and submitted it a couple of days after. At the interview they told me it was fine and they went ahead with everything as normal. If I was you I would stick with your interview date and just keep in touch with Knightsbridge to make sure they're on the ball and keep your paperwork moving.

Hi there,
I have a question regarding to some of the documents mentioned.

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/medical-examination/

I looked to the website above for required items, and it doesn't specify that a Medical Summary is needed (all the other documents are currently being processed or are sorted).

Then I looked to the Knightsbridge website: http://www.visamedicals.info/us-bring.asp

I pretty much have all the documents covered except for the Medical Records from the GP. I have a pretty dusty record considering I never really go to the Doctors... Anyway, so I wanted to know how long it took for people to receive the document?

I was the same for my medical summary, there was nothing on it. Although I broke my ankle a few years ago and that wasn't even recorded so I had to go back to my GP and have them update it.
