I saw the 3 N/A yesterday but received an email with a checklist today. Luckily, they only ask for a W2 to bring to the interview so I don't have to send it to them and wait the 11 weeks again. But I'm confused as I did send the requested W2 already with my package so not sure what is wrong/they want.

That's great, it means they're happy with your documents enough to not hold it up at NVC, but that the embassy will need the W2.  Try giving them a call if you're unsure about whether it was included, perhaps they're wanting this years one?  Either way, they should be able to tell you over the phone or wait til the embassy has your file and contact them perhaps?
PS: congrats on case complete!

I got a checklist this morning for my birthday certificate. I sent in a photocopy of a certified birth certificate from my home country. I used this same birth cert to file for my daughter last 2 years and it was accepted by NVC.  The checklist is asking for a computer generated birth certificate and not the hand written with the government seal.  I don't know what to do.  Scan date Feb 14

I faced the same scrutiny when people found out I was with a US citizen... a few acquaintances actually asked if I was with them for a visa. It's insulting.

Lately, I've found that robbing such rubbish people of their devious sense of mocking is just to outright tell them..."Yeah, I only married to her for green card. Is there anything else you want to know? Like how to rope them or something like that?". This just shuts them up..

I've been following along and I know it's always reassuring to see a new CC posted during this long waiting process.  We got ours today!

Scan Date: 2 Feb

CC: 14 Apr  (The 3 NA's showed up in the afternoon and I called to confirm)  10 weeks and 1 day

Best of luck to everyone waiting.

Congratulations & Good Luck !

Case complete!!! I woke up to the 3 N/A's and "AT NVC" on my status. I just got off the phone confirming its true!

Scan date:  31st January

Case Complete:  14th April

NVC will now send my file to the embassy, who will contact me with an interview date (embassy will contact me instead of NVC), as I have an expedite at the embassy stage.   My hubby leaves in 3 weeks for a friends wedding in 4 weeks.  I probably won't get to fly with him but at least I won't be stuck in an abyss of not knowing!

Congratulations & Good Luck !

I just checked to see if our AOS fee had changed status. It now says PAID but there is now nothing to select for the IV fee? Is this just normal for when they are finishing processing the first fee? Yesterday it had the button to pay the IV fee but of course it couldn't be selected because the AOS fee payment was in progress.

ours took 4 working days for IV fees to be available

After NVC receives your welcome packet, it takes up to 11 weeks to review.  Since you sent it March 24 (your timeline didn't reflect a received/scan date), it'll probably take another 2-3 months before a case complete.  Then, depending on the interview availability at the embassy, another 1-2 months for the interview process.  You can check the forums for case completes or follow the timelines of others on visajourney with a similar scan date as yours.

Compared the the 10 months you've been through, 3 -5 months is nothing.  We'll all make it through, as painful as it might be.

Yes.. We shall all make it through however painful as it might be!

So dissapointed with nvc today. My wife's case is already approved (3na's). Mine is still pending, Nvc told me that i864 is missing and they're requesting for another copy and once they got it wait for another 11weeks. I told them why is it going to take another 11weeks since its their fault. My son(petitioner) requested for a supervisor and he was advised that they will double check it. Is it 11weeks again in case they really need another copy even if its their fault?

Try your best to convince them to recheck and find the document. Its absolutely insane on their part to say that they haven't got it, when we have sent it all.. Yes, at the moment it would take 11 weeks.

It seems they changed the rules in 2011, perhaps the NVC wasn't caught up at that time, or simply that someone let is slide. Here's a link on the immigration website about required documents by country.  I've selected Ghana as I believe that's where you're from? (I checked your profile). It gives instructions about how to get the computer generated copy.  All the best!

Yes! I saw someone else here in the same situation, it's good to know there is this option and they don't hold our file another 2 months.

Thank you and I hope everyone will get their CC soon. I am missing our first wedding anniversary next week and then his birthday, and I know some of you have kids so this is another level I can't even imagine.
I hope everyone will be reunited with their loved one(s) before the summer.

Thanks in advance for anyone that might have some insight here, and apologies for using this thread to ask an IR5 based question, although I think the same process and timeframes apply, and many of the posts seem to suggest it'll play out the same way.

I am a USC petitioning for both parents to move from the U.K.  Our scan date with NVC was March 27th, and initially - based on their stated processing times online - we had hoped for approx 30 days for case closed, then another month or so until interview. Following threads here, we're now realizing that's not the reality, and up to 11 weeks is the current timeframe.

We (my family) haven't seen them in quite a while, and because of job commitments, would need to visit in the summer (late June / early July). Initially we had hoped they may be here by then, but that seems pretty unlikely now.

My question (not a very precise one, more seeking an opinion) is whether it's worth buying non-refundable flights now (while still not really expensive) to visit them, or wait it out to see if for some reason things move faster and they get over here by that point. We're aware that them coming here in the meantime as visitors is a non-starter so we have ruled that one out.

No hard-and-fast answer but trying to predict based on current times and working with a budget that might not stretch to buying flights there when prices are higher close to the time! Thanks!

Hi, My case has been approved and USCIS status showing that case has been transferred to NVC. So preparing for further steps,

From the reading I found that once case number issued DS261, AOS fee, IV fee, DS 260 all can be done in next 2 week  after that.

Then we need to keep my AOS docs, and IV Docs ready, so we can send them.

So have few questions:

1> Once starting from DS 261 to DS 260 steps will be done online, after that will we receive any instructions from NVC that send your documents now ? or once we complete all steps can just send out documents there......

2> When seeing at IV package, i am gathering all documents to send. We need police clearance certi. (PCC) for her

My wife lives in India, so for police clearance certificate (PCC) when we should apply at passport office?? Is there a perticular documnets needed to show from NVC requesting PCC??

How long does it takes once its applied to get PCC??

I dont want to waste time so getting ready the package so I can do it in timely manner.

Your experience will be helpful. Thanks

Once you complete all Steps you could send in the documents with the Document Coversheet. The Document Coversheet would be sent to the agent(as chosen on DS 261) with the NVC Welcome pack. All you need to do is to gather all the applicable documents as per the coversheet, mark it accordingly and send it across.

Well, I applied as soon as we received the NVC Welcome Letter and it was issued the same day in the passport office. I carried my passport(which held the current address, else carry your aadhar or any relevant document containing your recent address), a copy of my NVC welcome letter, and a address proof.

How long does it takes once its applied to get PCC??

Mine was issued the same day.

Yes it is always better to have things arranged before hand. Good Luck!
