Interesting concept.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

No no, it is better to lock up anyone who disagrees with you. That is the secret to a strong "democracy". Kim Jong-Un is the most democratic man around ;)

He even hires staff to follow family members around with towels to make sure their faces are clean.

We've had a few mass shooting incidents in Colorado where the shooters obviously shouldn't have been in the same room as a firearm to begin with. I wonder if this guy would support passing a law making it easier for the victims and families to go after the people who sell the weapons and ammunition. Or maybe allowing families to sue politicians who supported legislation that made it easier for guys like James Holmes to get a gun in the first place.

ACLU would be all over that, Constitutional right.

Harbouring illegals I do not think is.

That is one way, but if you are the grieving parent of someone killed by an illegal immigrant that was in the area solely because the local lawmakers made it a sanctuary city/county/state, should you be held accountable to that family?  I am not sure the person in this case would get the satisfaction from someone simply losing an election.

Kind of a false equivalency.

Sanctuary Cities, to my knowledge, are established using laws/ordinances that are perfectly within their right to establish (at least for now). They are ALLOWED to refuse to cooperate with Federal immigration officers, again at least for now.

Without a change in laws that would force cities/states to comply with Federal law (Marijuana as another example), the city is completely within their right. So yes someone could sue the city, but I just don't think it would be very successful.

Every state has different speed limits for highways, some faster than others. If someone is killed by someone driving 70 miles an hour in California, you can't sue the state of California for not passing a law limiting the speed limit to 60 miles per hour.

If it is not clear this is a change of law that would allow such actions to be successful.

Good point. I don't know much about Colarado politics specifically, but I'm guessing that the governor would not sign that bill. Based purely on his political party so yes it is a big assumption.

If it passes then the logical law to follow would be one allowing people to sue the state for not complying with other federal laws. If someone high on marijuana causes a car accident, someone should be able to sue the state for not complying with federal law and making it legal in the state.

Driving whilst high is against the law in Colorado.
