“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

NPR covered it this morning, as they tend to repeat everything 10 times should be able to catch up if you are interested.

Does seem to be a win win situation, perhaps the process could be made easier.

Just to educate on the refugee process in Canada.  It is NOT easy.  My parents worked immigrant and refugee services for the Salvation Army in Canada before they left about 10 years ago.

Once immigrants are paroled in, they must obtain a work permit which is not automatic.  Many are denied one.

Refugees also are not eligible for provincial healthcare immediately. Often they're out under copay plans or nothing at all.  A friend came and was pregnant.  She was fortunate to find an organization who had a doctor donate his time and costs for free due to the situation.  She could not plan to deliver in hospital as they would not take her without proof that she could pay for it despite having a care provider, so the provider paid a retainer and managed to get the rest of the fees waived.  It definitely is not as easy as the general public seems to think.

Hossain and every other asylum seeker who came through Chahal's doors, seems to feel their days of fleeing might finally be over.
"We feel like we are home, that's how we feel," Hossain says. "And the Canadian people open their hands for us. They welcome us like we are part of them."

Refugee and asylum claims are two different beast. Sounds like most are filing asylum claims in Canada not refugee.

I do question how many have already tried and failed in the USA.  If they have, they cannot in Canada

I really need to follow him on Twitter, well maybe not.
