Those of you who got your NVC case number in the past two weeks: Is your case at the embassy yet?  We got our case number a week ago and the case was forwarded to the embassy on Monday.  We figured it would get to the embassy quickly, since it's just traveling up the east coast to Montreal, but it's still sitting "in transit."  I'm wondering if the snowstorm on the east coast this week shut the mail down.  Anyway, we're not in a huge rush, as we're still waiting on his military paperwork before we can submit Packet 3, but we wondered if any other recent NVC cases have made it to the embassy.

200+ nice!! but only 50% approvals - bad!

Anybody here on this forum from 1-2 years back? is it usually lik this towards year end filers? or this time thrs another big reason there are so many RFEs? (Maybe like Geo suggested it could be because of some new staff)

I am sure we all prefer a slightly late approval than an early RFE :(

They are actually behind schedule compared to last year.. Around this time they were approving January filers..

It's varied over the years. There's always a slowdown towards the end of the year, but it was most severe than last year.

Actually, I'd prefer the early RFE...I'd rather know somebody is looking at my case and have the response based on my timeline instead of staring at a set of numbers that are only slowly creeping downwards now (i.e. the slightly late approval is known that it's only slightly rate afterwards).

I just got approved today, 123 days of waiting since Nov 14th. I called my fiance and he was sleeping, we were teary and happy at the same time.

By the way we made a mistake in our timeline about the first date we knew each other, but I think they didn't read it carefully, I was so nervous I would get a RFE, but next time when I go for the interview I will need to bring another timeline with me.

Hey congrats! a quick quesn - did you send beneficiary's birth certificate with the petition?

I got mine sent (I am the beneficiary) along with i129F. But the B.C. doesnt have my name on it. I was given my name a few months after I was born and the certificate was not updated. Now im wondering if they'll give me an RFE for it or completely ignore it till the file reaches the embassy.

Any clue if this has happened to someone?

Ideally your birth certificate wouldn't be a cause of concern at this stage. I wonder why would you send it anyway, when it is not required. Let's hope this doesn't become a cause for RFE now. Do keep secondary evidences like School Leaving certificate or a signed affidavit from parents or a close family member confirming your DOB.
