We received a 221g October 2015...

We got a NOIR...

They sent a request for more evidence and recieved our packet of evidence November 2016...

We have not heard back..

How long will we have to wait?

Will this executive order affect the processing of CR1 cases already pending?

Since there is a hold on processing cases from the seven countries in the ban, will this either speed up the processing of other countries or hinder it more? I don't mean to sound insensitive.

I assume neither. The exec order is a temporary ban on issuing visas for citizens of the seven countries but they can still be petitioned and go through the whole process up to the interview stage.

It's a 30-day pause in issuing visas for nationals of 7 countries. That means around 185 countries are still having their visas processed. 7 countries is a drop in the bucket. And we all know that 30 days is nothing when it comes to visa timelines. Already 7 days have passed. Cases don't move much in 30 days - even if the entire USCIS and NVC stopped working for a month I doubt we would see any difference. The NVC is currently taking double that amount of time to review a birth certificate written in English (based on a checklist timeline I have seen here).

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

QUESTIONS:

  • Ive heard that sometime they will just give you a visa and NOT make you interview again...is this true?
  • I heard that they typically do NOT DENY you once your case has been reaffirmed..is this true?
  • How long of a wait are we looking at to hear a decision at this point?
