Hi guys. I haven't posted in a while. Got my green card in the mail today

Aos from vwp. No rfes

March 3 2017- aos packet sent via usps priority mail
March 6 2017- packet received
March 16 2017- biometrics appointment letter
March 30 2017- did biometrics
May 16 2017- EAD/AP approved
May 19 2017- EAD combo card mailed
May 24 2017- EAD combo card received
August 1 2017- Received email and text updates for aos- jumped straight to - interview scheduled for September 5 at 11.30am
September 5 2017- went for interview- pretty straight forward, IO swore us in and just asked us questions to confirm identity, when we met and supporting evidence. Supporting evidence we took where - joint bank account statements, photos with us and other people ( IO took 4 photos from the album), health insurance( asked why she didn't include me on the policy within a month of marriage as she was supposed to. We told IO that she couldn't include me as we had to wait for my SS number and IO was ok with it. Apparently if you're a federal employee and if you were to include spouse in your health insurance policy, you're supposed to include them within a month of marriage. We also took our driver's licenses to show matching home addresses. Received 'card in production' email update at 7pm
September 7 2017- received 'welcome to America' mail. Also received text and email updates - card mailed
September 11 2017- received green card in mail

What state are u in that was pretty fast

Mine still haven't been assigned since August 28th. I really wonder why it takes 3+ weeks for something like this, and when I call and speak to a Tier 2 officer I don't really get a reply either.

Let me know what your reply says once you get it.

I submitted my request on August 31st. I dont understand why they haven't assigned anyone to your case yet. Hopefully, we hear good news in the next few weeks. But i'll keep you posted if I ever get a response from them. It's been more than a week since my case was assigned but I haven't heard anything. I've seen people that have applied after me get their greencards already and it gets a little frustrating.

This is a small victory, but after visits to 3 USPS offices, having had my USPS account locked, and getting verification questions that weren't applicable to me, I am FINALLY able to use USPS Informed Delivery to know which mail I have on the way to my house.

Now I have something else to compulsively check in addition to myUSCIS.

Yay!

Kinda sad that it removes the excitement I have checking my mailbox everyday, but it helps me cope, so this is nice.

I agree it's pretty cool and I also agree that it takes away some of the excitement. But it's certainly a nice little app to have.

I tried to get myUSPS for myself as well for weeks, then tried it with my wife a single time and it worked right away so that's how we did it. It shows mail for everyone in your household and not just for you so it doesn't matter who signs up for it.

A little negative sidenote: USCIS hasn't updated any cases at all 250 -/+ around mine in almost a week now. I wonder what's going on with that.

my conclusion based on anecdotes from the jan/feb/march threads on here is that there's a long lag between when people receive their notice in the mail and when they receive the text/online notification, but people still intermittently receive their interview notices or waiver GCs.

i'm not too worried about the app that lets you look through hundreds of MSC### at once - they're most likely still processing people at more or less the same pace as before.

I had my interview today in the San Diego office and got approved right there.

the only reason i am posting here is to tell how I think I finally got my interview scheduled.

I called and asked for an level 2 rep and asked him to file an service request to the San Diego office which I have the right to do after waiting for so long. This request forces the office then to act and answer via email how long they believe it will take for me to get an appointment. Lucky me they invited me right away.

Easy work it was thanks for the fun readings here.

I called the USCIS # and got to speak with a Tier 2 officer. They haven't responded to my notice yet even though it's been over a month and someone looked at the service request on September 15th. She did say that my case is now being handled by the Portland, Maine office, other than that I couldn't get any more information out of them. She said they've been really slow with applications for some reason. Maybe you can call them again and see what's going on with your case.

Yeah maybe I will give them another call next week. How come your case is in Portland, Maine though? Unless that's a service center that processes applications eligible for interview waivers, it's weird that they'd send it there considering your local office seems to be Boston.

Yeah, I asked her the same thing.  She said some service centers were backed up and they've been sending cases to different offices so they can get back on schedule with processing their cases. I realized it doesn't even matter if someone looked my service request because I haven't got a response from them yet and its been over a month.

I think it also just might've been a coincidence that after you did that they scheduled an interview. It might've just been your turn anyways bc I filed almost an entire month after you and have my interview scheduled with the San Diego office tomorrow (I had it rescheduled though bc I'm leaving today with my husband to go to Germany).

after you guys' advice, i decided to finally call a Tier 2 person as they haven't  even responded to my Service Request over the past month.

for some background, my application has been pending for the past 7 months, so i've been worried.

they said they've been running a background check on me since may - so for the past five months - and that maybe on oct 2, when my SR is due for an update, i may hear something.

gah. doesn't help to have a muslim name + to have changed it recently... they always check on me forever.
