Yeah indeed, for me it took 40 days...NOA2 May 10th and I got my case number on last Monday. At least it was "ready" on the CEAC tracker...It is annoying, but they will not do anything if you are still within the 6 weeks range. I know how frustrating it is! I am waiting on my packet 4 since Monday, and I am cursing that it is "taking so long". We are all so ready to be done with the whole process. We just need to remember that it is coming to an end, the worst is behind us! Just seems like NVC is slowing down, but in the end if you are at the NVC stage, things will get moving quicker than before!

Wow 40 days! That is a lot! I am definitely happier and calmer that we passed the USCIS stage, I think that's the worst, waiting so long and not knowing when you'll be approved.

We've sent several emails to the NVC since we've received our NOA 2 30 days ago.  They have never responded.

Has anyone ever received a response email from NVC?

We're in the same boat. I feel you. Still no response to my email ..

At first I was happier...now I just want to be able to schedule my interview and I feel I am back at the level of annoyance I was before receiving my NOA2. Even though it has been a shorter amount of time, my patience is also shorter, and I keep getting the higher delays possible lol.

Currently waiting for SLEC (medical place) to open. Got here at 3 am and I am first in line. To Filipinos who are going to medical, Thurs and Fri are the best days because people younger than 14 yrs old and beneficiaries taking their kids can't go to medical on those days. It's almost opening time and there's less than ten people in line.

Wish me luck!

As @Special_K has informed me in the German thread, it means your case gets to (and is processed by) Frankfurt much quicker after it "leaves" NVC - 2-3 days for electronic vs 7-10 days with courier mail.

I also believe that this is a way for the NVC to reduce human jobs basically. A supervisor we spoke to on the phone told us that the data they get from uscis is now entered into the system by a computer and not people typing it in (from what i understood).

@Steve & Ligia I did, quite quickly even. Maybe because at the drop down menu, where you choose the reason for your email, i chose 'complaint'?

I know what you mean lol! My patience was running really low too, we got an RFE on day 125 and then got approved on day 144...now just waiting for NVC to receive it but I'm getting discouraged seeing so many people waiting 4-6 weeks just to get a number assigned -_- it is so tiring.

Uggggh yeah it really s****! Hang on, the end is near.

My fiancé and I have been together 5 years. I think this is very hard, because we were so looking forward to me finishing my master and finally not be apart anymore...and even though I am done, we are still apart :( .

Hi all, my fiance had her interview today. CO said she would have her visa within the week. They did take her passport.

Some questions:

  • Does that mean she passed?
  • If you fail the interview, do they not take your passport?
  • Has there been an instance where even if you fail the interview, they take the passport anyway and tell you later?
  • Older threads seems to suggest they ask the interviewee to fill out a delivery form for the visa. My fiance was not asked this. However, when we applied for our interview appointment online, the online form asked if we wanted it delivered to fiance's home, we checked "yes" and filled out the address. Is this just a change in process?

Thanks.

Well as they said she would have her visa within the week she definitely passed! Congratulation! Seems like they might ask online now, would make sense. There wouldn't be a reason to keep her passport if she was denied and as you said they told her she would get her visa within the week, so no need to worry.
