I'd like to say THANK YOU for sharing this information.

We were waiting for an update after sending USCIS our RFE a couple weeks ago, and despite having nothing in the mail or any updates online, my partner just received a call back and was informed that our case has been approved since May 19th and our NOA-2 is in the mail!

We wouldn't have even considered calling if you hadn't posted, so congratulations to you but more importantly thank you for sharing!

For others who have had bad experience calling, perhaps it's just bad luck...but the agent was super helpful, polite, and courteous! Stay positive, stay friendly, and keep trying! ❤

Do you happen to have the phone number used?

We called 1-800-375-5283.

We had some problems getting our case number to be accepted.. but if you press nothing when you call you eventually get through as they presume something is wrong (the key to speaking to a person on any automated system is to intentionally press the wrong thing until they figure you need manual help!).

Got case number today. Couldn't find any resources that could answer this question:

Can I schedule medical and interview now or do I need to wait for it to say "ready"?

I'd wait for the ready status as many members stated before. Sometimes the medical has limited validity time. Also depending on where yo are from you actually need an interview date in order to schedule the medical. It is the case for me.

01/05/17    I-129F mailed to CSC
01/10/17    i-129F received date

05/10/17    NOA2 approved

05/31/17    NVC received

06/14/17    NVC assigned case number

06/16/17  NVC case number received (by phone)

06/16/17  NVC Left (online program)

06/19/17 Status updated to 'Ready'

06/19/17 Packet 3 sent

07/11/17 Packet 4 received

06/17/17 Letter received from Embassy

08/02/17  Interview Date (approved)

08/07/17 Visa ready for pick up

08/14/17 VISA IN HAND

08/14/17 POE Montreal (preclearance)/Minneapolis

09/08/17 MARRIED

09/12/17 Submitted I-485/I-765/I-131

09/15/17 Received date on the 3 NOA1

10/12/17 Biometrics appt.

10/27/17 Case ready to be scheduled for interview

12/13/17 Approval Notice date

12/21/17 Card in Hand

09/12/18 Mailed Submission for I-765/I-131 renewal

09/14/18 Case was rcvd

09/17/18 E-notification

10/25/18 Rcvd interview letter

11/28/18 Interview

12/15/18 Approved (Had to redo my physical or we would have been approved on the spot)

Just called and was told that Dec 15 is the processing date even though it is as of March 31, so there is nothing they will do. Jan 20 was my submit date so basically looks like I have to wait at least 2 more months before they will look into it further as they rarely update the dates and they are always on the 15th. Very frustrating.

Once it says "ready" you can proceed to schedule medical and interview.

I'm so happy for you congratulations and I'm glad my experience could have helped you!  I'm still waiting for the NOA2 but we already filled out the DS-160.  Just waiting for our case to be sent to our consulate this week they said.

Yes, very good news :)

I wonder if that will get irritated if I call again. I've called 3 times now.

When you called the NVC you just gave them your noa1 receipt number ? I'm going to try today, what info would I need to give them?

you need to have your receipt number and then they ask you questions to verify your information like name and birthday and the same for your fiancé. It's pretty quick, if they have your case number and invoice number ready they give it to you right away and that's it.
