I immigrated to the US some months back..anybody living in mississippi too?..i could use some friends and people to hang out with,been searching endlessly for a job but nothing seems forthcoming,everyday I stay home doing nothing,it really can get frustrating sometimes, but my husband makes up for it on weekends,but what about weekdays,lol..and there's really nothing happening in mississippi,this has to be the most boring state ever in the US,no activities,no parks,no beach..i seriously wonder how people have fun here,im typing now home alone..help!!! anybody in mississippi?

if you have internet, you always can have a job or a small business, consider also some hobbies, it sounds like you don't know what to do in your free time. Hobby could be a small business too

What kind of job or small hobbies?Pls explain..i want something that will take me outside the house,somewhere I can resume to everyday,i studied estate management..im looking to change field tho,but for now any kind of job will atleast keep me out of the house,even babysitting is appreciated..been searching and searching,and living in mississippi does not make it any easier..nobody might really get it..*whew*

if you like babysitting, consider to open a small kinder at home, I guess it allows to have 6-8 kids, it's easy, ask your city.

If you wish to work online, ask google, indeed.com or local craigslist, local craigslist is good to see what other people is doing, aome people is selling on eBay or doing youtube. Hobby you can sell any but it needs to be something you can do well and compete, at one time when my late hubby was very sick I was staying at home and selling my paintings, it was well for me.

You need to think in what are you good, meetup is a good source to meet new people, nextdoor is maybe better, you meet your neighbors

I advise against running any sort of child care before you have thoroughly read the regulations. at least in california there are permits and classes that are needed before you can run one.

or just go to Walmart, they have computers close to customer services, you can apply there. The same is Home Depot, Lowes, car dealer always hire, not a good pay though but it's working with people and being well dressed

Find a volunteer web site and check out things that interest you to volunteer for, it could be good practice and open the door

for a job you will enjoy. We have no way of knowing what hobbies you would like, what talents you have, that part is up to you

to discover within yourself. Surely your husband can be helpful in finding a job you want or at least steer you in the right direction.

What part of the state are you in? If you are close to the gulf coast, try www.bettergulfcoastjobs.com. I undetstand what you are saying, but you need to get out there, I started with volenteering, it was a great way to meet people. I am also starting a small business and have had great support from the Mississippi Small Business Development Center (www.mssbdc.org). If you are not near the gulf coast, come for a visit, lots of great things to do on the coast! Hang in there, it will get better.
