Hi folks,

Can someone please elaborate on the process...

Location : India

Petitioner : GC

PD : May 2016

I130 : Approved Sept 2016

NVC Petition : Submitted Dec 2016

How long does it take for the  case to be approved and sent to the respective consulate?

Once the case is recieved at the consulate, will the interview happen

  • After the Fincal Action Date crosses PD? Or
  • Before PD is about to become current?

@Michael2017 - looking forward to your input

Regards

Hi,

NVC requires up to 11 weeks to approve, and after that usually 4weeks plus to send to consulate. But recently they have been faster. The interview will be in the interval of the visa bulletin, it is not about the exact date but the months you are current. If all goes well, you will have your interview around April 2018.

The visa bulletin is out, as expected 01 March 2016 for F2A.

BUT THERE ARE IMPORTANT PREDICTIONS INCLUDED FOR THE NEXT MONTHS:

VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS

FAMILY-sponsored categories (potential monthly movement)

Worldwide dates:

F1: Up to one month
F2A: Three to five weeks
F2B: Three to six weeks
F3: Up to five weeks
F4: Up to three weeks

any interview date predictions for PD February 2016?

You are current. Interview should be by now if you had no delays at USCIS or NVC phase. Call NVC asap if you dont have WL yet. Please everyone fill in your timeline or we can`t understand your situation and cant help.

Will call first thing tomorrow!
What do I ask? I called 2 weeks ago and they told me they couldn't tell me anything, but now that my date is current, will I have access to more info?

Thank you!

I just called the NVC and they couldn't give me any information because they're processing up until 1st of February, and told me to call back on the first of February, and from there I could receive the email for my interview date, and that it all depends on my regional consular office.

My PD is January 24th 2017, in about a week or so it's going to be exactly one year since I got the NOA1, but I'm still seeing people with 2016 PDs not approved. Honestly this shouldn't be this hard. /sigh

I know that we still have to wait for the bulletin to become current, but it'd be nice to see some movement at least.

Seriously, you need to fill in your timeline or no one can answer you. You are just wasting your time if you have no timeline....
