What should I do about the expedite?

We sent the expedite request to NVC for the reason of financial hardship and pregnancy. We waited for 20 days and the NVC sent us a message that the Casablanca Embassy denied our request.

We sent all our evidence and we don't understand why they denied us. Other visa journey users were approved for the same reasons as us. Should we reapply and if so, what other evidence should we include? Or would it be a good idea to visit the Casablanca Embassy and try to speak to someone in person since there is no phone option and they don't respond to emails.

Past evidence:

- bank balance for both of us

- prescriptions for the pregnancy

- ultrasound photos

- lab test results

And we kept searching and we found other people were approved for the same reason.

Well, you tried. I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out for you but that's all you can do. There are no guarantees that any expedite will be approved. All anyone can do is request.

Once the interview date has been assigned then you can contact the embassy to see if any earlier ones become available through cancellations.

It isn't. Only if it's high risk, and only then with the appropriate medical paperwork stating that.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thank you. Yes, you're right and it seems that this embassy in particular is happy to deny things for people. We tried calling them many many times and they don't have any form of phone services. The expedite request option is not a consistent one even if the same requests are made and approved at the same consulate. It's a shame. Some people, like us, really truly need the time.

We will try moving our interview up when the time comes. Thanks for that suggestion. :)

It's not just an expedite for pregnancy. It's also for financial hardship. We don't have enough money to pay for doctor visits let alone a birth here. If a medical emergency occurs we have no way to cover it. If we were in the states family would be able to assist us.

that's notUSCIS problem. Birth is also very expensive in the USA. not a financial hardship to them usually

Their answer (rightly or wrongly) to that will probably be 'well if your family can pay for a birth in the US they can send you the money for a birth elsewhere'.

Is the financial hardship as a result of an accident or disaster like a fire or flood where you lost everything?

It isn't. When I found out I was pregnant I asked an immigration attorney. The reply I got was "Immigration will tell you pregnancy is not a reason to expedite a case. If there was a severe health issue such as mother is on bed rest and could die type reason. They might expedite." Then I was told once the child is born it is a bit of a different story. The attorney also told me that being pregnant only proves 2 people got together and did something. It doesn't prove who did it.

OP. There may have been other reasons that people did not state as to why their case was expedited.

In some extreme cases pregnancy can be an reason. I have a friend who was pregnant and because of the several cases of Zika Virus in Brazil and the associated birth defects, she had her request approved.

Yeah that is different. It is a medical reason.
