Getting a B2 Visa for girlfriend

I have a girlfriend in Russia whom I would like to get a B2 (Tourist) visa so she can come to the US and visit me.

I have read the topic about how this is done.

The weak points in her application is going to be:

1. She does not have evidence of funds to cover her expenses in US. She will stay with me, and I will provide the money for the expenses. I could send her money to put in her bank account if needed if that would look better.

2. She has a small business there from which she makes some money, but it's not much. She does not have a regular job. But she has had the business for several years, and it does make money.

3. She does have a mother and several siblings, but no children.

4. She does not own a house or flat.

What is the best way to get her Visa approved? I want to make sure it gets approved, and am willing to hire someone if that would help.

Hiring anyone does not help, dont waste the money. She has to be approved on her own merits and no one, not even you can help that. Also her having a boyfriend in the states isnt going to help either. They want to know that she will return home without a shadow of a doubt, and to be completely honest I'm having a hard time believing she will return home, so I'm sure the CO would think the same. But you never know until you try, and no one can tell you for sure if she will or won't get approved. Does she have any travel experience under her belt? That can sometimes help. Also, having you support her trip and stay does not look good either, and neither will a huge amount of money being deposited into her account, and believe me when I say they do check those things.

All she has is her credibility. Chances are not good, especially if she has never travelled anywhere else.

There is no way to 'make sure' she gets approved or 'best way' to get approved or anyone that can 'help' her get approved.

Its a very simple process - she fills out the form online stating facts to the questions asked, attends an interview again answering factually the questions asked. Then she hopes for the best, and expects the worst, just like every other B2 applicant.

Her chances do not look good, looking at her situation, but always a chance by applying. Let us know the result.

She is on her own. History of travel to other countries is a plus. Adding $10,000 to her bank account will make someone happy .

What happened with your fiance? Didn't s she just have an interview?

The prior travel thing doesn't necessarily mean automatic rejection. I have known Russians who got US tourist visas with zero prior international travel history.

If she's a young unmarried woman, it's hard. But you never know, just pay the fees and see what happens. She might get lucky. Just don't be shocked if it gets rejected and be prepared to make plans to visit her in Russia (again?) if that's the case.

Is there a place in Europe she could easily visit which would qualify as visiting another country? If there is a weekend trip that she could do for not too much money, I think that would help.

Whoever makes it easier for Russians to visit (visiting other countries doesn't guarantee a US visa).

Places in Europe which would be both visa-free for Russians and Americans: Ukraine, Moldova? Both are probably pretty cheap.

There's also Bosnia and the Balkans.
