Hello everyone ? Our noa2 is approved, we check it online and it says our case was approved last October 7, 2016, but we don't have any email saying that the case was approved. Can anyone tell us if it is ok to wait the email or should we call NVC to follow up? Thanks in advance ?

Have you received a NOA2 letter from USCIS? My fiance and I didn't receive any email either, but we got the NOA2 letter a week after the approval. Monday was a public holiday, so the letter might probably come in a day or two later. Wait for a couple more days :)

Hang in there. NVC will take at least a few weeks to receive and touch your case. Also, you don't have to call NVC - only if you're superstressed about proceeding - might save you a few days altogether.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I didn't get any email neither, but got the mail saying it was approved on Sep 30th. Yesterday I called NVC and they said we received your case two days ago and we can give you the case number!! So I jotted down the case number and asked my fiance to fill out DS160. With Ds160 and Case# I'm gonna schedule her interview tomorrow before waiting for embassy notice, I'm kindda in rush I know:)

Can everyone fill out the ds160 as soon as they get the case number? Or is this country specific?

I saw it in this forum, actually there is no US embassy in Iran and we have to go to neighbor countries.

I'm guessing its country specific because when I fill up my DS-160, it asked for my USCIS Receipt Number instead of the NVC number.

You can fill out the DS-160 whenever you like, you will need the USCIS receipt number (which you already have), but also notice that it might be country specific regarding when you can actually submit the form (I personally waited until the case status said "ready" as I knew the embassy had received our case then).

The DS-160 doesn't ask for the case number no matter what country you're from (the form is the same for everyone), but some embassies might want the case number anyway, so better look that up.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Is there any way to get from a USCIS WAC number too an NVC number without a call or waiting for an email from NVC or the embassy? I did fill out the 1125.

Your options to get the case number are:

-Wait until the physical letter from NVC reaches the US citizen's mailbox (sometimes ppl get those letters, sometimes they don't)

-Call NVC

-Use this form to contact NVC https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/hsk-nvc.php

Not sure what 1125 is.

Aha okay. Robert, the G-1145 has nothing to do with anything apart from the NOA1 you received a week or so after you filed the i-129f. That one is long gone now. :P
