Is she older than you? Is she of child bearing age still?

Paying for her child's college is quite a big financial gift that could be of impact to the decision.

No child bearing age. Financial help, I took the responsibility of the tuition fee etc.

What did the interviewer focus on when they asked questions?

Was your fiancee denied outright, or given a chance to submit more proof?

CO asked her 3 questions. 1. What is the name and age of my son? 2. What do i do for living? 3. When was the last time she saw me? She answered all those questions right without hesitation. He asked her to wait for few minutes. He returned with a paper of denial reason.

She is Sikh or you are?

I am a Sikh. and Hindu marriages are very common. My mother and grandmother were from Hindu family.

religion should not be an issue here. or for anyone else.

when was the last time you saw her?

Sadly religion can be an issue at interview. If it's common in the area and culture for the two people that want to get married to be of the same religion, they may not believe the relationship is valid if it's against the cultural norm. While multi-religious marriages/Multi-race relationships/Age-gap relationships are normal in the US, if it's not the cultural norm in the place the foreign fiance lives, it can hurt them at the interview.

Yea, a 13-year age difference with the male being older isn't uncommon in that region. I'm not sure if religion has a role to play here because you say you provided pictures of families with each other, which would speak to the fact that the families are accepting regardless of you being sikh and she hindu. For next time, it might be a good idea to also provide affidavits from your families attesting to their acceptance.

such a long relationship for K1? I think it raised a suspicion.

i dont think the length of time they have been together prior to submitting the k1 has anything to do with it.. i say that because i was with my now husband for 3years before we started the k1 process and by the time my interview rolled around we had been together 4 years

just gave my opinion, each case is different, read again the case in question and will realize several possible red flags, five years of relationship to ask for a K1? , Would not be more logical to marry? after all, who waited five years, you can wait 6 years.

yes i do agree there is a red flags especially the financial part of it... there was nothing wrong with your comment I wasnt trying to bash what you said or anything i hope you didnt take it that way cause i wasnt meant in that sence.. i just personally didnt see the 5 years being a red flag since my own personal situation was close to the same amount of years in a relationship before my interview

Maybe the filed for the K-1 so they could marry without having to be apart afterwards :)

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
