I have a question that I didn't encounter the last time I was in this process. My fiance' has moved to a different apartment since the I-129F was filed. When we complete the DS-160 we will enter the new address is that all we need to do to bring things current?

I am from Australia and we are waiting on our NVC receipt. The notice date of the approved NOA2 was the 1st November. Surely we would hear soon?

We hired an attorney in florida to do it so not sure if it'll come to us or him.

Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary (the one getting the visa to come to USA)?

It makes a difference.

If you are the foreigner then just update the address on the DS-160.

You may also want to update your G-325a bio data to show new address in the event it is asked for during the interview or to prevent a delay if they notice it later that the DS-160 and G-325 do not match.

If you are the American then you need to contact USCIS to update your address with them as well as the DS-160 and your copy of G325a which you could give to your fiance along with your updated letters of intent to marry. You will both be dealing with USCIS again after you marry in America.

No offense meant here but that was your first problem. Hiring an attorney.

Thousands and I mean thousands of couples have already done the K-1 process here with nothing more than the help on visajourney without paying any lawyer a dime.

If your lawyer knew what he was doing or cared he would have told you that YOU can call NVC to request your case number.

If your NOA 2 was 11-1 then I'm sure they have it by now.

Call in the morning right away. NVC may have had that a week ago already.

Good luck and congrats

Jim

He has told me we can do that but just thought we would wait the 30 days out as we are not in any rush. I see people find it hard to get through to them anyway just thought we would have seen some thing by now.

We don't have the time to do it ourselves being business owners hence the attorney. Thanks and will do

I am the petitioner. We actually both moved and I immediately updated my address on the USCIS website but it is her update I was questioning. I was thinking the DS-160 was what I would need to do because obviously everything else has already been submitted.

They are not very difficult to get through to. I have found night is my best time with less wait, others mileage may vary. Grab your favorite adult beverage and sit with your NOA2 in hand and provide them with the receipt number.

Our case was updated to "in transit" today! Woo hoo! It should arrive at the embassy by 12/6. (I was able to locate the DHL waybill number using a trick I found here on VJ.)

Good luck, everyone.

OK I understand.

Most of us here on this board are mega impatient..LOL

If you are in no rush and plenty of cash for atty then go for it.

Anyway glad the 2nd part of your journey is about done. Next up the interview.
