I was wonder if anyone knew something on this , Girlfriend backed out of getting interview because I was having money issues. Was wondering if I ever go back through this again what would happen if I find another woman I want to marry and bring her here to the USA on a k1 visa

Shouldn't be a problem. Did you inform the embassy and USCIS that you were cancelling the petition? If not, you should do that right away.

Seconding the above poster - formally withdraw the invitation otherwise you may have more problems down the line. You need to send a notarized letter to the embassy and tell them you wish to withdraw the petition. Send a copy of NOA-1 and NOA-2. And then send a copy of all this to the USCIS. Sorry this happened, that really sucks.

I'm sorry to hear that your fiancee backed out for financial reasons. Guess we know where her priorities were.

The answers above are decent. Myself, I'd be thinking more in line with ummm.. maybe looking for another foreign fiancee isn't such a great idea and I should look closer to home. A bunch of us have discussed this before. If you are not prepared to stably support your fiancee on your own, and I mean definitely above the poverty line, then it's possible you will be just wasting more time and money. This isn't a judgement it's just a little bit of common sense. Money issues is the #1 reason for relationship arguments.

Again, sorry.

Then again .. there are plenty of fianceés that are fully capable of supporting themselves.. ;)

Good for you! You don't belong to that helpless, penniless immigrant category luckily... ;)

But you should get hint / gist of rcripps's message by browsing through the Effect forum.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

Yup! My fiancee is one of them but I still have to support her for 6 months while she goes to school to supplement her English before looking for a job. Kudos to all those that are self sufficient.

Thanks everyone for the information , now as for me being finial viable , I pay for 2 operations house payment apartment and I live in hotel from job to job . I also supported 3 grandchildren for a time this not included is regular bills not bad for if I do say so if I didn't I would have over 35k in the bank easy . Know what your talking about before you say something I'm a union carpenter make around 6 figures . Things do happen in life.

Agreed.

While you didn't define "money issues", most assumed you were living below the federal poverty level. Everyone has a different concept of "money issues". For some it could be losing that job that pays $150k a year and having to start a new job at $100k.
