Last minute nerves

Hi everyone!!

I have my K-1 interview tomorrow and I'm stressing and panicking about the whole thing. I've been to the embassy twice in the last 2 years for J-1 visas and worked in the states where I met my fiancé last year. This feeling is a million times worse than those interviews because this isn't just a summer job now, this is my life. So I guess I'm kinda looking for some reassurance from those who have recently had their interviews...

I met my partner 12 months ago, I came home and visited him after 5 months apart, this is when he proposed in a romantic way and I have a ring. We haven't seen each other since March but we talk almost all day every day. In June, we had sent over 70,000 messages to each other on Facebook so we will have at least 10,000 more today, and I have met almost all of his family. We send each other gifts and have just recently bought a house together.

However, I've been reading forums getting myself all worked up about this and seeing that people have been denied for having a short relationship and only seeing one another once or twice in the year they've known each other.

Has anyone been in similar situations of short relationships before the application and what was the outcome. I'd appreciate any input from you all.

Don't pay attention to interview experiences from other countries - some are a lot harder / more stressful, and they'll only make you worry unnecessarily. You've done pretty much all the hard work - the interview is honestly the easiest part and more of a perfunctory step at this stage in London.

p.s. YOU BOUGHT A HOUSE TOGETHER!?! That's like, 100% more stressful than this interview will be AND excellent evidence all on it's own.

Don't even read it if it wasn't a London interview. It's going to be a very short chat and done. They are not looking for ways to fail you.

I feel exactly the same. I have my interview on 19th in London. I guess being nervous is a good thing as it shows that it means something to you.

Having been through London I agree with the above comments. The CO who interviewed me actually seemed kind of bored. I was a little worked up going in, but it very much seemed like a formality on the day. Just make sure you are well prepared (documents etc.) and you'll be fine. Try to relax, it'll all make a great story to tell the grandkids someday!

You got this! All you need to do is make sure you leave the house with all your documents/passport. If you can do that, you'll be just fine. You'll be with your love soon!

Thank you for all of your comments!! I had a stressful day for sure. I live in Sunderland so had to get the train down and when I got to the station the train was cancelled!! Thankfully there was another one within the hour but had further delays so I had a mad dash across from kings cross to the embassy and got there around 11:50 instead of 10:45 as planned lol.

I went in and was a bag of nerves even though I've been twice before for J-1, got called right away for initial documents stage to be handed over then waited almost 2 hours, there was someone at the window for an hour! The lady was super nice, asked me questions which seemed conversational then questioned me about my ACRO. when I was 14 I had a tough time at home and I broke a door so my mum called the police to teach me a lesson so my certificate says no live trace. The lady interviewing gave me a sheet of paper and told me to call ACRO to get details and give permission to discuss the incident. She said that will be sorted either yesterday or today and after that I should be approved so still playing the waiting game!
