Hi everyone,

I know; it takes around 60 days to receive the green card after one’s case has been approved. However, it’s annoying to see others that got approved after you are  receiving their cards while  you sit there wondering as to what is actually going on. The 8th of this month is going to be a month since I got approved. I don’t know what USCIS is up to. I will just have to suck  it in until I can receive my card in the mail :(.

I do hope you are right about that. Having gone through secondary inspection once, I can tell you the uncertainty was nerve-wracking. However, I wasn’t in and out in a few minutes. Lots of people ahead of me got sent to secondary for documents check (for cruise ship workers) while some others got grilled and interviewed by an immigration officer about their actual purpose because they have tourist visas and were determined to be spending too much time in the US while claiming to be running businesses back in the Philippines.

 

I was one of the last to be processed and I got asked where my spouse is, do we still live together, are we still married, why did I say I live in San Francisco while I answered Phoenix in response to the question ‘Where is your spouse now’ (I had to tell him it’s for work but we still lived together in SF), why wasn’t my spouse with me on this trip (busy at work while I had Christmas break from the university I work and study at). Those were the questions, pretty much.

Despite receiving "Case received at local office", for some reason, there is no mention of I-751 or its processing time in Cleveland OH Field Office website.  It only has N-400, N-600 and I-485.  Weird!!

Congratulations!! It is an approval letter because it has a statue of liberty watermark on it. Btw what is your NOA1 date?

My local office is Tampa and they are reviewing March 2017 N-400 applications.

i can't be sure util i open it. if it is an approval letter, i will be super happy. My NOA is sept 20th 2016. I will update it once i get the letter on hand.

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
