Steps with NVC

So we just finshed doing choice of agent and paid the aos fee. Waiting for IV fee to show up and then the ds260

On the email I got it says to send proof of marriage in the checklist it comes with. Do I really need to send everything agian? Im sending my tax transcripts of last three years,affradavit of support and my recent paystubs for proof of employement.

My bad not to send proof but it's on the check list. It does not say anywhere to send it.. Just I can check it off

If you only sent a copy, they are asking for an original

Selected an agent? is this an attorney? if so, he should be guiding you and telling you what to submit

IRS transcripts (alone) are enough / only have to send pay stubs if no tax tranxcripts are avaiable as would be the case if your emplyment was new this year

you should get a letter (or email) with checklist and bar code page telling you what documents to submit / all need your NVC case number, both names, and both DOB's in upper right hand corner along with copy of the cover letter, check list page and page with bar code

I got a checklist that states a lot of stuff I didn't know I was needed to send. It says to mark what I send and one of them is transcripts and w2 as well as proof of assests.. I was thinking all they needed was my transcripts and affradavit from me. What do I need to send?

Oh and I meant the ds261. The first form you fill out. Where she just chose me as the agent. We did that and paid the aos

OK for proof of marriage they want you to send a copy of your marriage certificate again. Yes, even though you sent it to USCIS already. You don't need to send the evidence e.g. pics of whatever you sent again. You can send new ones if you like but it's not required.

The checklist you got us a standard one that everybody gets even if they are not petitioning a spouse so you night notice it says petitioner documents for example, not everything on it will apply to you. You need to send the things that do so the police certificate etc.

If you want to send relationship evidence at this point you can with the IV package. The document cover page is a list of items that are required, if you have them. So not everyone is going to have the items on the list.

Do not send originals to the NVC (except for the I-864), only send photocopies of anything.

So they're currently requesting W2s even if you send the tax return transcripts. Make sure to send a photocopy of each year. If you are using assets include proof of those assets otherwise don't worry about that.

In the IV package you need to send a copy of the marriage certificate and your spouse will need to bring the original to the interview.

I'm not sure there website says I don't need too same for the wiki this is what I got.

Check the box for all of the items you are including. Put that over top of the AOS and IV package. You do not need to put them in separate envelopes anymore but you way want to use a divider sheet or individual binder clips.

Should I include everything on the list then? I mean I have my most recent w2 and transcripts but I have three years worth of transcripts but I don't have the w2 for the other two years. So I hope my w2 will be fine for the most recent year for the packet and the interview ><

Everything that's applicable to you that's on the list. If you don't have the w2s for the previous years that is fine. You need at least one year's anyhow.

Alright will do then thanks! The most recent w2 with three years worth of transcripts should be good I think

If you send tax transcripts, you don't need to send W2s. I did send one W2 to show proof of income for the year I was working abroad, because that didn't show up on my taxes (the salary was exempt).

When it says "proof of relationship"--which I think is what you're referring to, not "proof of marriage"--my understanding is, that's proof of relationship for people who are using a joint sponsor. It's not about further bona fide relationship evidence. But you can send more of that too ("sideload").

Be sure to use the directions from NVC in combination with the wiki. Some of these things are clearer there.
