Don't beat yourself up over the ticket. It happens, and excitement to see a loved one is hardly something to be ashamed of...ticket prices should remain low.

Suggest you think in more detail as to what might have caused the file to go to AP, in the unlikely event it takes an extended period of time to clear. From experience (and I have experience) AP is something of a black hole. For what it's worth, in our case I was expecting months and months in AP and it was not so long - it just kind of ended. Before I knew it, my wife was here in LA.

Best of luck!

I am going to admit that despite being on these forums that we bought tickets before we had the visa in hand (tickets for three people at that). We had been approved conditional on the medical and I didn't know the medical results would take so dang long to get to the embassy. I was so stressed out waiting for the visa. It did come in time, but it was too close for my comfort.

In retrospect, better to have waited.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

This is close for me theres two more working days before thursday which would be the last possible day. Since the put issue they deliver that afternoon or next day to document place.

Worse case ill cancel friday and then ill just wait.

Sorry you are going through this....

I am a Travel Agent..may I ask what airline are you flying?

Tickets must be canceled prior to departure, or all value is lost.

when canceled, you have one year to reissue, but have a fee.

International flights usually have a $200 change fee plus difference in fare.

Worst case, contact the carrier, it's worth a shot to explain to them what has happened and ask them to waive the fee. The worst they will say is no, but I have been surprised before.

Good lick! I wish you the best :)
