Where is this # Department of State (DOS) Case ID

It's you case# assigned by NVC (which is DOS). On the Visa it says "IV Case Number"

Just checked my case status and it's in transit. How do I track it to find out when it arrives at the embassy because I want to request an earlier interview date? And do I have to wait until it arrives at the embassy before making such a request?

My husband's medical appointment is September 20th.

Watch for status to change to READY. That's when Embassy has and then you can email them. Usually only takes 3 to 5 days to get to embassy.

Oh wow! Really, just 3-5 days? You think they will send my documents to the embassy that quick being that my interview date is not til Oct. 3rd?

Silly question. My case status at NVC has not changed. Am I suppose to see the status change as it goes from case complete through the interview scheduling process? I gave up on the darned site since it always says "At NVC". Is the another site to check status?

Wishing all good good luck of the upcoming interviews. My status says, "Ready" just yesterday but its no longer with NVC, as it was forwarded to USEM Manila. Still waiting for that interview letter though,

Those aren't scan dates, just means they "touched" your case. It doesn't mean anything. It'll be fine. They do go over your case before you get to the interview. It's nothing to worry about.

When the IV application was completed they sent you the confirmation email. If you look all the way at the bottom you see where it says confirmation no.

Another way to view that number is by going to the DS-260 page where the IV application was filled out and click on "sign" at the top of the page. Then you see two barcodes at the bottom of that page the left is the case number the other barcode has the DS-260 confirmation number.
