It is an unfortunate situation for many CSC August filers. The slowness might force some August filers to file 400 after all after waiting for 751 for over 15 months, the original purpose is to wait it out for 751 without applying for 400 to avoid 751 being combined, but the holidays are coming, and August processing seems to be stalling or going very slowly. Applicants should not have been put in a tough situation like this, it should not be a gamble, i think in a year of unprecedented slowness, and if your ultimate goal is 400, it is probably a better gamble to apply 400 while you are eligible and forget about 751 for the bigger picture since 751 processing is highly unstable and unpredictable.

This is just another set back from USCIS that since a few months they slowed down for unknown reasons and some of us will require another set of biometrics. I live nearly 400 miles from the only place where biometrics is done in my state which means I will have to take 2 days off work to take care of this. I just wish they didn't treat us this way, but there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. It's just the way they want to run their business...

Yes, it is unfortunate. All we can do is wait it out or file class action lawsuits after 2 years of inaction(My lawyer and a couple of other bloggers all say this may be the last resort, but it will be an expensive endeavor). I have totally given up on 751, but at least my 400 has been in line for an interview. I have seen too many cases where they combined the two. This nightmare will ultimate end for all of us, but the question is that how long it is going to take and we are also constantly tested for endurance and patience, it is frustrating for sure. I don't know how much it would help, but once my 751 is out side the processing times, i will make an info pass appointment, it is probably not going to change anything, but I will do my part and just try, at least, they may be able to confirm with me that my two pending cases are in fact being combined until the 400 interview(or dual interviews). However, you have to take what any of these officers say with a grain of salt whether it is on on the phone or in person. Only the adjudicators know what's going on. Fingers crossed.

I peek here from September board. Why would somebody want to avoid 751 and 400 being combined? I have interview for N400 in few weeks, so I assume it will be combined. No biggie, right? I never got RFE. I plan to take my spouse with me and some evidence for marriage bona fide.

Yes, but applicants just want to get the 751 approval, so another burden/worry will be off their minds. It is always about patience, some just don't want to be kept in the dark for another 6 months even though the chances of denial are slim. They want mental relief i guess. I have moved on from 751 anyway and been focusing on 400 interview and continue my ongoing evidence gathering.

I feel you 100%. I was angry with USCIS for months and their lack of moving forward with my 10 year GC. It is very frustrating. Then I applied for N400 and month later attended fingerprints and my naturalization interview is scheduled very soon. It helped me to ease off the anxiety over the GC. I don't care about the GC now, I am simply focused on the next step (N400), which is the ultimate goal anyways. I still would like to receive my 10 GC since I paid for application and would like a keepsake. My field office for N400 says their processing time is 8 months - that is kinda long... but it helped me to move on from worrying about the green card.

If we are required to do another bio metrics after 15 moths of waiting, will we be notified and will USCIS charge us again?

We will definitely be notified - they'll send another biometrics letter. I haven't heard of anyone who's gotten a new letter on the same application having to pay again, though. I will be right ticked if they do!

Is your timeline updated?

(FYI, I'm pretty sure they require you to turn in your GC at the oath ceremony, so even if you do get it, you'll have to give it up shortly thereafter. In any case, I still hope you get it so you get to hold it in your hands!)
