It's one thing to use a famous line and assume that most will get it. I'm sure if I say "I'll be back" I don't have to tell anyone that Arnold Schwarzenegger made the line famous. It's quite another to copy virtually verbatim an entire speech and still try to claim that the words were yours.

if that had happened, you'd have a point. but, per the norm. you have nothing. have a nice day. :)

Is that a Double-D Entendre?

Ah.. Manafort enlightened us on CNN today, Hillary is to blame

Manafort said attacks on Trump's speech are due to Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, being "threatened" by Trump.
"This is once again an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, she seeks out to demean her and take her down. It's not going to work," he said.

But I thought CNN was a liberal mouthpiece?

Or if you have no original thoughts of your own just copy someone else. I'm sure that you see the multiple paragraphs lifted from Michelle Obamas speech, but having no interest in admitting that you choose to tell me to shut up. Stay classy! And a good day to you as well sir!

A new explanation from the Trump Camp..the speech is actually based on my little pony.

Appearing Tuesday on MSNBC, Republican National Committee communications director Sean Spicer quoted the children’s television show, as well as singers Akon and John Legend, to explain why portions of Trump’s convention speech lined up so closely with Obama’s words, arguing that an online search for any line in the speech would turn up similar phrases.

“Melania Trump said, ‘You work hard for what you want in life.’ Akon said, ‘Work hard for what you get in life.’ John Legend said, ‘Work hard.’”

“You’re quoting Akon and John Legend?” asked MSNBC’s Craig Melvin.

“Hold on, it’s getting better,” said Spicer. “Melania Trump said, ‘The strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.’ Twilight Sparkle from ‘My Little Pony’ said, ‘This is your dream, anything you can do in your dreams.”

“So the RNC isn’t taking this seriously?” Melvin interjected.

“A simple Google search of three phrases comes up with everything from Sparkle Pony to John Legend to Akon,” Spicer said

Whether or not Melania Trump cribbed a passage from a Michelle Obama speech,
there is one crucial sentiment Donald Trump’s Slovenian born wife
certainly didn’t copy from Obama’s — the inherent pride of being an
American citizen.

As the media pours over one passage in Melania Trump’s Republican National
Convention speech that is similar to Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech at
the Democratic National Convention, they overlook a key sentence that
was undeniably written by Mrs. Trump and reveals all the difference in
the world between these two women and their husbands.

“On July 28th, 2006, I was very proud to become a citizen of the United
States — the greatest privilege on planet Earth,” the smiling Mrs. Trump
said to thunderous applause.

Speaking with the thick accent of a non-native speaker, she flubbed the word
“citizen” for “citizens,” but everyone understood her meaning, and that
endearing verbal quirk and the obvious pride with which she said those
words was immediately recognizable to those of us who come from
immigrant families.

What a difference these sentiments are to Michelle Obama’s infamous remarks
during the 2008 campaign, when she said, “For the first time in my adult
life, I am really proud of my country.”

Why was she suddenly proud “for the first time” in her “adult life”? Because her husband was running for president.

Contrast that with Melania Trump’s inherent pride in being an American citizen,
which in her words is “the greatest privilege on planet Earth.”

That was the most important line in Melania Trump’s speech.

And she didn’t steal it from Michelle Obama.
