I had a combo interview today at the Jacksonville Florida office. Filed N400 in July 2017. I751 filed in July 2016 and I'm glad to have filed N400 as at when I filed. Godspeed to everyone still waiting

So I am still waiting for an answer on my service request in regards to my I-751. I was told I would hear back by 1st February. My N400 was scheduled and then de-scheduled all within 24 hours. The guy at the infopass appointment, couldn't offer me any advice in regards to an answer about my I-751, even though the time I was told I would hear had elapsed. I called the 800 number, and was told I would hear back soon. How long is soon? 1 week? 1 month? I am going to give it until the end of next week, and if I haven't heard anything by Thursday, I will call them back to see if there has been any progress.

Hi, im july 25th 2016 divorce waiver fillers. So after i sent my RFE on november 29th 2017, the USCIS says that they need 45 days till i get new decisions/notice. On january 18th 2018 i sent the service request asked them that after 60 days of my RFE respond i still havent heard anything. And finally they send me email today stated that my case being transferred to the local office and i have to wait another 60 days till new decisions/notice.

my question is, should i make an infopass to the local office and ask them about my case or should i wait another 60 days as it says on the email? Has anyone ever in the same boat with me?

I called USCIS again yesterday to see if they had any update on my I-751 (I believe this is why my N400 is being held up- although I stand to be corrected). The call receiver was anything but helpful, and despite my case being nearly 3 months out of processing time and also the 15 days after I was told I would hear something following my previous service request, I was told 'you need to submit another service request which will take 30 days' in regards to the original service request not being answered. I would have thought the previous call receiver who took my call on February 6th, would have suggested me submitting another service request. I really think that the USCIS staff on the phones, have little to no idea of what they are telling us.

I-751 pending: July 25, 2016.

N-400 pending: July 31, 2017.

I had my interview today (Tampa). Applied under the three-year rule. I took a six-inch thick folder full of various things such as leases, bank statements, photos, etc. My wife came with me.

The immigration officer called me. We both walked up. She said, “is this your spouse?” I said yes. She said,  “she can wait out here.” I said that the I-751 is pending. She said, “no it’s not; it was approved a month ago.” I had no update on the website. It still shows as last updated on July 25, 2016.

I went to her office, and she didn’t want to see any of my paperwork. Just passport, green card, and driver license. She asked the questions and told me I’d passed. The website hasn’t updated, but I saw her stamp my application “approved,” and she printed a letter stating that I’d passed the test and that I am recommended for approval. I was in and out in fifteen minutes.

If I-751, can you please provide what are questions asked for I-751 ?

God has perfect timing; never early, never late. It takes a little patience and it takes a lot of faith but it's worth the wait. ❤️

N-400 date 31 July 2017. Interview notice date 13th February 2018. Actual interview 12th March 2018. I-751 approved 12th February at the local field office, but they didn’t tell me it had been approved. My online N-400 status now says oath scheduled for Tuesday. But the online I-751 status simply says application received in July 2016; so no change.

Wow! Congrats! Almost 8 months after your 1 year of waiting on your I-751. So its okay to apply even there’s a pending I-751? Do u think its gonna prolong the wait if they havent approved the I-751?

You can apply for naturalization as long as you apply no sooner than 90 days before the third year anniversary of being a permanent resident. Also, at the time of application you must have been married to and living with the citizen for the last three years. And the citizen spouse must have been a citizen for three years before the date of application. The N-400 wait time has nothing to do with a pending I-751; they’ll just combine the two if the latter hasn’t been adjudicated by the time of the naturalization interview.
