My case got approved the 19th of July, it has not received NVC as yet. I am preparing in advance. I am preparing for the IV package have everything up to the police report, but my passport is in my maiden name, I won't be able to get my passport in my marriage name until the 24th of August and I am preparing in case the IV package is to be submitted before then. I dont want to delay the process by waiting until I get my new passport. That is why I am asking can I submit the change of name after my IV package is submitted. I was told I would have to pay $450 to change my green card from my maiden name to my marriage name. I would like my green card in my marriage name without having to slow down my filing process.

just got an email checklist stating that i didnt pay my AOS fee or IV fee yet. I called and said I paid them and even she checked and said the CEAC website shows it also. She told me to send bank statement proof to asknvc@state.gov. Is that correct? or should i send to to nvcelectronic@state.gov?

Is this a possibly timing issue and my case is really complete?

Just sent the ds261 and the fee online... Can i call for them to review right after or should i wait?

Call NVC and get your DS-261 reviewd. It will unlock your IV fee, but don't wait.Go ahead and send your AOS and IV documents if you have already paid AOS fee.

I would suggest you to call NVC and ask. It is better you change your name during this process it is much easier and you will have your visa issued with the married name. Once you call NVC and let them know about the change they will ask you to send an email with the proof I believe. I do not know if this will slow down the process since you are not going to have your passport till August 24th. My question would be what are you going to fill in for DS-260 form under the passport detail?

I would definitely suggest you to call and ask NVC about this. Here is the thread I found which might be little helpful to you: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/464829-changing-maiden-name-into-marriage-name-in-the-middle-of-visa-process/

Just logged into CEAC and found that the DS-261 form was available so I have just filled it out and sent it.

Now I can just call tomorrow and confirm with them or should I wait few days?

Also I have another question, should I go ahead and notarized all the copies I have made (my dad told me to do it on the safe side) or can i send it without notarizing it? can someone who sent all photocopies of marriage certificates or birth certificates or Naturalized certificates confirm that it is okay to send the copies without notarization? Please and thank you! :)

You can also call NVC to go over the choice of agent form (DS-261) on the phone which will speed it up. It is not the AOS fee holding it up, but the approval of DS-261. After you call the payment for IV is generally unlocked within 48 hours.

I called NVC to go over DS-261 before I made the AOS fee payment yesterday morning. I just checked my bank account and it shows the $120.00 deduction in transaction... Hopefully the IV fee will be available within a matter of hours or day.. :clock:
