My US citizen fiance will be deployed to overseas next week while we're waiting for NOA2. We got NOA1 on 18th April and think We might get RFE or not. I asked him to prepared the documents we need for further steps and he'll try the best but he's not sure if he can do.

So my question is that can I send all the papers instead of him if he get to prepare. And if not what else I can do? Can I ask USCIS to pause the process till he's back to US?

Any help will be very appreciated

He better leave someone in charge of his mail while he's gone. When responding to a rfe, you need to mail the rfe letter inside the packet you prepared with the response.

You could certainly respond to it, if you were in possession of his mail and rfe, if that's the case.

He could also prepare all documents needed from him for interview and send it to you, if he wishes.

Good luck

He can also request an expedite because he's deploying. Definitely be sure that someone is able to collect his mail. If it goes to the barracks then he might be best rerouting everything to a home address or make friends with the mail person if they aren't deploying too and have them forward it to either himself or someone he trusts.

How long is he deployed for?

He'll be back 9 months later

K-1 visa?? Then he only needs to send them to you so you can have them with you for the interview. If he doesn't have time to do that then you won't be approved at the interview.

He needs to fill the affidavit of support forms and he hasn't done yet. That's what i concern. Thanks for the reply :)

@ischnura @p-ana

We added the request for the expedites but we're still waiting for NOA2. He told me he put his parents' address so i guess i can ask his parent to send the mail to me. Thanks for the reply!

Keep in touch with them in case anything comes up. And ask him to mail you the affidavit, taxes, employer letter, Pay checks, and whatever else you might need.

Good luck!!

What p-ana said. ^^

If he's able to, he might give you access to his my-pay and you can print out his LES'. The taxes you should also be able to access online to print off. Not sure on the letter of employment, if it has to be live signature or not. But perhaps he can email that too. Would possibly save a bit of time. But he can always mail you stuff. Dependent on where he's headed, the mail access differs from post to post. When my husband was at Shank they only received mail once a month and could only send it out once a month also.

Very much luck to you both!

Due to my husband's situation, I did all the paperwork from the start, including the petition. All my husband did was sign. There are parts on the form to fill out if it was prepared by other than the petitioner.

Will the timing be right though when he's deploying now, I mean between the time your visa expires and he returns to the US?
