My wife and I really want to go to my home country in December for at least 2 weeks. We haven't booked our flights yet because we are afraid of getting a RFE or an interview appointment letter. Nobody is going to be home to get the mail. Do you think the holidays are gonna slow the process down a little or speed it up?

If it is 2 weeks holiday, I would not worry much. At first place, you have not got any RFEs but even if you get at the same time you leave the country, USCIS will give you some time to respond. Meanwhile, just start collecting new documents after you had send you application package on June 2016 (like new months bank, utility statements, any lease extensions etc).

I hope that helps.

So my job is transferring me to Colorado at the beginning of the year. Since I filed with VSC, I don't really expect to hear anything about my application until Spring of next year. (From other threads, looks like VSC is taking around a year.) Of course they could always issue a RFE.

We will likely be in a hotel for a few days until we can look at some rentals in person, so should I do a change of address to my mother-in-laws address temporarily, and then submit another one when I sign a lease? I've read before you're not suppose to list an address as yours if you're not physically living at it, but I'd feel more comfortable doing that, even if it's only for a week, than risk anything be sent to an address in a state I won't be residing in.

Obviously moving isn't ideal during the ROC process but I was offered a position I can't turn with relocation being paid for.

Thoughts?

No problem, I just got back from Philippines for almost 2 months vacation there. Just show the extension letter and expired GC. No worries.

Hello guys, just got back form Philippines for almost 2 months with the extension letter, everything went right. Is there any news from our Green card? When we will get it, just checking if someone got theirs?

It looks like April 2016 is rolling. There are many upcoming holidays so we shouldn't expect any movement until beginning of 2017.

It appears May filers are starting to be notified of approval. Hopefully the holidays will not slow us down much.

For CSC or VSC?

Anybody, anything?

Looks like they're still approving April and May filers. Hopefully they start approving June filers this month.

I will personally not bother till end of January. The 9 month wait for the AOS has taught me a lot of patience ?.
