Well I never thought I would be posting here after our interview but i have questions that I don't have. My mind is wiped clean.

My husbands interview Thursday April 28th and we were put in AP. No 221g, nothing asked for.

CO didn't ask to see the boatload of evidence albums. They did take the 2015 tax forms.

Questions ask.

  1. Who is calling you?
  2. Did you give your wife the new middle name?
  3. Dos your wife work?
  4. When did you last see her (I was outside)?
  5. Was your wife married before?
  6. Whats his name? (she was typing he said)
  7. He's Nigerian also?
  8. Does he live in Nigeria

Then she said just a minute and left for 4 to 5 minutes than came back and typed and said the "the system isn't giving her the information she is requesting".

Than she left again to talk to someone came back with the simple AP sheet and told him to hold on to his passport until they finish.

All it says is

Dear Visa Applicant,

Before we can continue adjudicating your immigrant visa application, your case must undergo additional administrative processing. We will notify you by email or phone as soon as the administrative processing is complete. Please do not return until we have contacted you. If you have not heard from us within 60 days of your original interview date, you may send an email to LagosIV@state,gov and request an update.

Sincerely,

American Consular Officer

I believe this maybe about my ex-husband. Those who may have been around back in 2013 I found out 3 days before his interview he had married a Nigerian woman. I emailed to the embassy to withdraw my petition told them what happened.

My gut tells me he may have done something funny (like list me) when he applied in 2015 for a visitor visa that was granted so he and his wife could come here and give birth to their baby which she did.

None of this has to do with me. Unless they are wondering about the divorce timeline. He says he divorced me but I don;t believe he did. He won't give me the documents so finally after meeting and deciding on a new life I filed in Texas and got my divorce and got married the next month.

I am wondering was it his I-94 information she couldn't access not sure how all that Department of State vs Department of Homeland security checks works. I mean they are the embassy what possibly can they not access.

I know I am here babbling. But can anyone shed light on this. The handing the passport back has me concerned.

Thanks to all who wished me well and all the out pouring of love and support. It really means alot to me and my husband.

:wow: you submitted divorce documents so i dont think this would be a question if your divorced because you are. (Twice)!! now i dont think he (ex) would mention you on tourist visa wouldnt that null the reason to return to nigeria and not skip??? If he had someone ie you??I would think IF they have concerns on that end they will request to see you. But why didnt they at least tell him the reason... they can be so unsympathetic Edited by Anitafeliz

I would guess you are right, that this is about the ex- not necessarily that he lied in his tourist visa app, but even something simple like they want to check the previous app, see if the bio forms for you match etc.

Hopefully it will be over soon, you deserve happiness!

Best of luck!

No they gave back told him to hang on to it until the are done. I'm hanging in there. Just was hoping to go back to US with good news. thank you for your reply I do appreciate

Why ask questions about your past, if they already know the answer. Sometimes I think they just go thru the formality of the interview. Because if you really wanted to know about me, then you would have look at the evidence that was brought. So a person cant divorce and marry again? Then the CO goes and talk to someone and comes back with AP. What do they say when they speak with the other person, is that person a Supervisor and makes decisions on what the CO tells them? If the ex did do something, they should have the capability to look it up and it should not take 60 days

It's weird because they just touched the case 2 days before interview. It seemed like the CO wasn't prepared at all and she said she needed more time to check some things.

They touched it yesterday But it still says READY. Not that it means anything. I mean they did hand him his passport. But I have seen a few in same situation and were in AP for 4,5,6 months but were finally approved. So just praying faithfully for good news soon.

Dwhees76 Keep your head up! If you have been married before they will want to check and double check again. The divorce timeline is also taken into consideration. The Good clues here is that they took your tax returns and they will probablly check your social media to make sure you have no contact with your ex.. The circumstances of the previous application when you withdrew the application 3 days before the interview, they probably will want to make sure they check every detail about your husband to make sure he is legit. I am confident you have front loaded every piece of evidence to show your marriage is legit so don't worry about that.

continue to fast and pray and you will surely be granted your visa

If it takes longer than necessary (which it shouldn't) There is always the option to get your Congress person involved at least to demand answers. I wish you and your Husband well and rest assured you will be called to bring your passport for your visa soon.

GOD BLESS.

Just wondering if now I get my Senator or congressman involved or let the embassy do their thing. I have a choice of Ted Cruz or John Coryn. Lord help me.

Congressman can only tell you what you already know

you give so much advice to others i am surprised to see you in this AP

but i think the divorce and then remarriage shortly after is the issue

i wonder how he got a tourist visa after the withdrawal for the other / strange as it is hard to get tourist visa from there and with a new wife? really strange?

i know you don't know the answers and we don't need to know but we pray for you

you will make it

we are all with you

you can always reapply like i did / don't waste money and time (wasted) on an appeal / I won mine but it would have been faster to just reapply

I don;t think a senator can do anything now. If AP drags on, in a few weeks, maybe (and this being an election year could help get them motivated!).
