Wrong name on dv application

I applied with a wrong last name online for dv lottry , does that count as atempt to immigrate and when applying for a visa like b1 should i say i applied or would they knew that i applied ?!

You need to be truthful in your app for a tourist visa.

How did you put the wrong name? ie did you use a visa prep service and they lied, but you didn't stop them? Did you use a married name but are now divorced? Did you just write one letter in the last name wrong?

My last name changed in my passport to a new different name after i applied for dv lottry 2015 . But how would they know that i applied for dv lottry even with my name is wrong

You are supposed to list all the names you have used in your lifetime in DS-160 form for B1 visa.

Right , so i only used that name "ali" on dv lottry but in my identification card and in my passport it is samy and back in the application i used that wrong name so i have to say i used the name ali even if used it only in the application

And would it be considered lying ?! I only mistakingly worte that name on the dv lottry application and it's not found in any papers and haven't used it before . I applied for the visa before issuing my passport so i thought my last name would be ali not samy

In egypt we don't use our last name we use first name then father name so i thought it would be my father name , that's the stupid mistake i got in .

Did you merely play DV lottery in a particular year? Or, did you actually win DV lottery and you went for interview but unsuccessful? Tell members exactly what happened so that you can be rightly assisted.

Then, don't bother yourself about the name you used before. Merely playing DV lOTTERY without being a winner; and, you not completing visa form means you did not apply for United States visa.

Therefore, feel free to use your correct name now if indeed it is your correct name. Do not state in your DS 160 that you have applied for United States visa before because you haven't if you merely played DV lottery and you were not selected.
