Hi All! I just got off the phone with USCIS. Day 41 and still no Biometrics Appointment Letter. Tier 2 rep. submitted a service request, I should hear back from my ASC within 15 days. I'm not stressing anymore over this, but I need to admit that I'm completely upset :(

Hope you had a great long weekend :)

I'm in a similar situation as you. Called Friday and they put in a service request. Looks like those who filed near end of April have gotten screwed. :ranting:

I know the feels.

I'm sure both of our cases are piling in an office somewhere. It's really weird. First time I called they told me that CA offices were overwhelmed with cases. But I keep tracking timelines here on VJ and it seems to be completely random.

But oh well... What can we do?

Good luck!

Hi all,

I received my EAD card today after submitting request to expedite about a month ago. I will try to write a separate post on how I did it later today. There was about 3-week delay in printing the EAD cards at end of April-beginning of May, but it seems to be resolved now. I hope all April filers get their cards soon!

03/31/16 - AOS package received (I-130, I-485, I-765)

04/07/16 - Text & email notification

04/12/16 - Hard copies of NOA1

05/01/16 - Biometrics appointment (scheduled for 05/11)

05/02/16 - Early walk-in

05/02/16 - Request to expedite EAD submitted

05/06/16 - EAD approved

05/31/16 - EAD card in hand!

The RFE sucks, it delays your case a great deal. I had to call them today and the tier 2 told me my I485 reciept is working so I checked and it was.says that is the most important one since its the green card.

It's a month and a half since i sent my application in and no Notice if Receipts have come in the mail.

I have called them three times about the issue and this last time i told them that i do have my receipt numbers but not the hard copy NOAs. I was told that they do not send duplicates of NOAs, so basically i'm SOL. Hopefully i won't need them further down the line for something. I really wanted to use them to apply for a drivers license. Oh well.

On the bright side i do have my appointment letter and will be going Thursday.

All of those with RFEs they have 60 days to respond, so 14 days is nothing, they can technically push your AED to the 150 day mark and be fine, the 90 day rule no longer applies to you guys.

I filed on the 24th of March and have a NOA1 date of April 1. biometrics April 28, no RFEs, have a tier 2 calling me tomorrow morning, I submitted a Expedition request and the job offer expires on the 2nd on June, so I'm going to see what they say.

My Timeline;

March 24th - Sent off paperwork to Chicago Lockbox.

April 7th - Recieved NOA1s dated April 1st.

April 8th - Recieved Biometrics appointment.

April 28th - Biometrics.

May 16th - Expidition request

May 31st - Service request

I know this however I think 14 days is a long time for the website / case NOT to update / reflect that they've received the RFE response. Didn't expect the EAD to get approved as estimated before the RFE was issued however I was expecting to - at the very least - get some sort of update on my I-485 case.

And the 90 day rule still applies, however it has reset for us - so technically I'm now at 14 days out of the 90 days.

they have 60 days to reply to your RFE. My online status hasn't updated since they got my paperwork, March 28, the online tracker is useless and hit and miss. As long as you had a product tracking as delivered from USPS or whoever you used that's them getting your RFE.

Just got off the phone with Tier 2;

On the 16th of May I submitted an expedite request for a job offer, the job offer expires tomorrow. Unless I can show the employer that my authorization is on its way.

What I learned from the phone call;

  • My biometrics has been processed, and I'm just awaiting my EAD card.
  • When you apply for your case to be expedited, it doesn't come out of regular processing. Regular processing only stops when you get an RFE.
  • Tier 2s are very helpful.
