Did you call the number on the actual NOA? Not sure if that's the number you called or not... It Says if you have any questions about possible immigration benefits services, filling information or Uscis forms to call that number... I'm assuming that will put you through to a actual person

first of all, calm down. thiese are unneccessry worries! do you have troubles with mail that you're worrying about it? if you usually get your mail, everything's gonna be okay.

secondly, to talk to the representative you should just press 2 - 2 - 2 (as far as I remember) and then you'll talk to someone.

thirdly, from what i read here, they send you a letter quite beforehead you bio appointment. and you may always call them to ask about your case.

forthly, here are some tips as for how to speak to them:

get ready before you call as for what exact questions you want to ask and want to be answered directly.

cause sometimes their answer for your first question may be misleading and you forget that you actually wanted to ask more. Moreover, they are representative of customer service, which makes their language specific, like... when talking to you they will definitely repeat what you said to them to make sure they got you right or to fill up the silent pauses. and there're a lot of words, so again you may be misled.

when you are transferred to the second tier, ASK THEM TO TELL YOU their agent number and name, which is important, cause as long as they know that you have it written somewhere, they will definitely pay more attention to what you say and be more responsible answering your questions.

and you may also tell them "so, as i understood, I may ...... (repeat what they told you to do how YOU understood it) and I can write your agent number in the covering letter to my documents"

If they are uncertain, just ask to speak to the supervisor.

Hope it helps!

P.S. Had to scroll 10 pages of this thread to find these tips XD

P.P.S. how did you enter your number? cause I struggled to figure it out, causeit turned out that i had to put the both letters and the numbers, so it should be like "MLS0987654" = "6570987654". I'm sorry if it's somewhy offensive, but this is what I had a problem with, so i'm just sharing my experience :)

So I called and I chose the option of "not knowing my receipt nr" and was connected to a dude. Basically nothing new, just gotta keep waiting. It's just that it has happened before that I don't get mail in time, but I guess I'll just have to keep waiting and stalking the mailbox like a creep. If I miss the appt, then welp, I'll deal with it when it happens. I just wish I could at least check my case online to get some peace of mind. i know it doesn't do anything, but I think everyone here can relate to the need of "knowing" exactly what's going on to have some peace.

Anyway, thanks!!!

So I checked my status this morning and it said “Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It.” Which I don’t understand at all because we haven’t moved and I received the NOA’s in the mail no problem. So I called a Tier 2 officer and asked him what the notice was and he said it was a letter to reschedule my biometrics appointment. I told him that I never even received the first appointment letter and he couldn’t really give me an answer to what had happened. He just kept telling me that an officer is going to send me "a notice" again.

The whole call was a little frustrating, and the whole time I felt like he was trying to end the conversation. Vive USCIS! :ranting:

Hopefully that at least got things moving and my biometrics letter will be on its way soon.

To all the peeps getting RFE’s, hopefully it’ll be an easy fix!

3/16/16 - I-130,I-485, and I-765 mailed
3/17/16 - Delivered to Chicago lockbox (Day 1)
4/1/16 - Checks cashed (Day 16)

The online status doesn't change when they email the biometrics out. you will still get the finger print recieved notice and the notice of on march etc we recieved your application for... so being able to check online is useless.

Got my biometrics notice in the mail today.

Salut! That is so frustrating and "grosse merde" like I like to say. Good thing that you were able to check your status online, otherwise you would have waited a very long time for that letter! Like Toppa suggested, next time ask for the officer number. Hang in there!!

Done with my biometrics today at USCIS San Francisco. Went there an hour early and I didn't have any problems. I was done before 10AM, but until now I still can't check my status online. I know that there's an issue with case numbers online but it's just a bit frustrating not to be able to check what's going on with my case. I guess I'll just have to keep on checking my mailbox for updates. I'm a bit worried if I get RFE on my medical. I didn't submit I-693, I just submitted the one I had back in my home country (DS3025) which was done last Dec 2015. I was reading from other groups/forums that they get RFE on ther medical even if it hasn't expired yet. So, now I don't know what to expect in my mailbox.

April 13, 2016 – AOS, EAD & AP sent (Day 1)

April 15, 2016 – Received date on the NOA1 (Day 2)

April 22, 2016 – Received SMS & E-mail Notification (Day 9)

April 25, 2016 – Received Hard Copy of NOA1 (Day 12)

May 2, 2016 – Received Biometric Appointment (Day 19)

May 13, 2016 – Biometric Schedule (Day 30)

May 30, 2016 – Updated I-485 to “Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for Interview” (Day 47)

June 29, 2016 - Submitted Service Request (Day 76)

July 13, 2016 - EAD & AP approved (Day 89)

I'm in the same boat here ???

It happened to me, too, so I just created a new account using a different email and added my receipt numbers again. The username/password recovery never worked for me, so that was what I came up with:)

AOS timeline:

3/22 - package mailed to Chicago Lockbox

3/28 - package received (as noted on NOA we got in the mail later)

4/04 - NOAs sent

4/13 - NOA hardcopies received in the mail

4/18 - all three (I-485, I-765, I-131) touched (as per MyCase USCIS tracker)

4/27 - received Biometrics appointment letter

5/09 - Biometrics @ 2 pm

6/15 - called USCIS as there was no further info since the Biometrics appointment

6/16 - EAD/AP cases updated - card is in production
