Thanks Hccaldwe,but like how long did you wait to get your own notification from them?

if you go back to the timelines posted in the thread, NOA1 comes within 6 days.. holidays and weekends may impact how long it takes. USPS delivers on Saturdays by the way. Keep checking your mail

Saheed read the wiki link provided as it will answer a lot of your questions. Hopefully you also sent the checklist of information to prove the relationship they ask for on the I-130, and passport photos, rather than just the two forms you mentioned with payment?

Sent petition to USCIS Chicago lockbox (via in-laws to put check in US$): 11 Mar, 2016

NOA1: 24 Mar, 2016 (email notification 30 Mar. Hardcopy 11 Apr)

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Paid AOS Fee: 9th Sep 2016

Paid IV Fee: 14th Sep 2016

DS-260 submitted: 25th Jan 2017

AOS & IV Package sent: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite requested: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Medical date: 26th April 2017

Interview date: 4th May 2017 APPROVED!!

Visa received: 8th May 2017 

POE (entered the USA): 15th May 2017

Hello guys!

My husband and I filed I-130 at 26/03/2016 and we got the receipt msg and the e-mail at 01/04/2016. (The number starts LIN!)

I wish we will get the hard copy of NOA1 asap.

At first, I wanted to process with the K-3 visa. However after we filed the I-130, I noticed that It wasn't a good idea.

Now I want to the CR-1....I think it will be fine...right?

If I can not process with CR-1.... we will be fine with K-3.... :cry:

I had a nice little packet. Required forms. And about 30pgs of picture evidence and a few chat logs. Marriage certificate. Passport photos/copies. Yes. Followed the checklist on Visa Journey.

I called USCIS today and spoke to a human being!! :dancing:

My case number is still not updated so I called to find out if there was a problem. They said I should check again in 12 days from today (45 days of NOA).

so if you want to speak to a human being, choose the option that says "I do not know my receipt number"

hi there,i received my notice of action on Tuesday 5th of April I-797 form with receipt number on my phone and i got another message saying that your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Nebraska service center for processing within 7 to 10days.pls what does this mean?is it also mandatory or a must that i must also file I-129f again?pls i need someone to clear me on this.thanks

Create your timeline. It will should you the steps.

NOA1, which is the first one, is what you were notified about. Your case will now be processed at the Nebraska Service center.. It might take 5 to 8 months for you to get another NOA2..then it will go to NVC, and on.

Fill out your timeline FIRST!

how do I create my timeline

Find your comments..and click on Timeline...

It will give you a message that you do not have a timeline.. in there, there's a link to click to create a timeline, then click add timeline and fill out

Married 29th December 2015

Sent i-130 11th March 2016

i-130 Arrived in Chicago March 14th

NOA 1 by text message - March 17th - Nebraska! :)!!

My husband got our NOA1 hard copy in the post about a week later.
