Wife of us citizen. Living in Pakistan.

Married in August.

Filed i-130 in December 2014. Approved in July 2015. Interviewed at Islamabad embassy in January 2016.

The interview was quite easy. Some random questions about his parents names how we met and his job. After the interview the CO asked your case needs ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING nd gave me a white form. I asked how long will it take he said it can take a month. And then I asked can it take longer than that he said it can".

They kept my passport my original birth certificate and our original nikah nama. Now its been 3 weeks nd they have updated my status twice without me sending any inquiry.

We are so frustrated nd helpless. Please please someone help nd reply me please!!!!! It'll be so helpful for us!

This is normal. Although Mandatory Administrative Processing usually is the men. Women get it to. All you can do is wait it out. If there's no issues and security checks come back okay you will get Visa.

You may see many updates on your status. They do not contact you when they do. Every time your case file is touched there will be a case status update. Just be patient.

Good news they kept your passport. That's good.

Thanks a lot for all ur replies. It means alot.

At my interview the CO clearly said 1 month! Does it mean it can be done in 1 month??

Nd i have read on alot of forums but never read this thing that they would keep ur original documents. Why is that so?

Not the CO who undertakes the process, varies significantly but in general months would be more normal for Pakistan.

Everybody gets AP.

Takes a longer time in some countries for obvious reasons.

Not sure that Women will process quicker than men after recent events.

Thanks for ur reply.

But i was wondering why wud they keep my original documents may be they want to varify them?

Nd after a month from interview my husband will probably apply for my e2 visa. Because we're so much done with this BS!

If you need your passport you can ask for it back, f you use it it may delay matters.

Why would an E2 be more practical?

Just a few hours ago my hubby called the senator about our progress of the case ( hubby send the inquiry to the senator 2-3 days ago) Nd they told him that it is just the basic AP nd it shouldn't take long!

What do you think about that?

He must have good connections to get through to a Senator.

No senator can be reachable to everyone. Thats what i have heard!

Not the situation I have come across.
