I filed my i-751 in February 2016 . After divorcing my ex husband InJanuary 2016 . They did get back to me after I sent a service request on 04/24/17 They sent me a reply on 05/24/17 telling me that I am in queue to be scheduled for an interview. I divorced him after 2 1/2 of marriage . I submitted the joint medical , car insurance, car registration, joint account that he kept taking money out of .A copy of his criminal offense for a misdemeanor with his child mother while we were married . It had a fine of 400 that I paid since he was unemployed. A letter from the Mariage counselor stating that I am a victim of domestic abuse . 2 letters from friends of his, a notarized letter from him stating that he was the problem. Joint taxes . I sent a detailed explanation of why he remained unemployed- he failed his background checks . He lied to me about his criminal record . An explanation of his bad credit which is why he was not on the car loan . NO lease - we lived with my Mom - she did an affidavit . I sent some laid back photos of us at home . He signed into a rehabilitation place the same month before our divorce. After denying for so long that he smoked. Will I need a lawyer ! I'm new to this group

Hello all, We filed in Feb 2016, Our receipt notice is dated Feb 17th 2016. We still have not received anything from USCIS. We have has 2 infopass appointments to stamp my wife's passport. My wife works at a government job, her access badge always expires on the expiration of her residency, however it takes 3 months to apply for a new badge. That is why we have gone for an infopass stamp twice. We received a letter after the last infopass appointment stating "Your case is stillipending background investigation. Once the background investigation is complete we can continue to process your case." We will continue to want and be patient. I read back in this thread, what is the negative to submitting the N-400 now versus waiting to receive the green card? Thanks!

I don't think there's any negativity to filing for the N-400 while the I-751 is still pending. From what I have heard, it forces the immigration officer to adjudicate your I-751. I think you should go ahead and just file naturalization. Good luck!

You may hear from them either with your approval letter or a notice to appear for an interview hopefully no later than two months time  frame
